Mikki Moore...

he is a 91% FT shooter.
NO, I'm just saying that as of currently he's shooting 91% from the line (11 for 12). Obviously, He won't be shooting this percentage for the whole season, Hopefully, his stats will also improve as the season goes on, I'm assuming both of these numbers will start to lean more towards Career Stats

He can't catch a basketball and everytime he shoots, he misses. And he's TERRIBLE. This was a bad signing on Petrie's part.

Yeah, Moore has been mis-handling the ball a lot. However I think that the missing every shot just pertains to this season so far. Moore has a better career FG% than anyone else playing for the Kings (except Justin Williams and Hawes, but they aren't really "playing" significant time yet). Looking at career FG% Brad, KT and SAR are the only ones who have had a 50% FG season and none of them has a Career 50 FG% like Moore does.

I say just give it some more time, I state before I think he's playing terrible right now. I think that he just needs more time to get into our system.....At least I hope

I think the fumbling was nerves at first and now is "fear of fumbling." I haven't been impressed with a lot of what I've seen so far, but I haven't completely given up hope. I do, as I've said elsewhere, give him major credit for holding his ground inside and taking a charge.

Since I look on Moore as part of the interim transitional group of players anyway, my expectations aren't that great. And the whole salary issue quit making sense for me when we traded Webber for "flexible pieces" so I just don't look at the figures any longer.

Thanks VF21, the great information ninja. We're both hoping that there is a brighter future on the other side of the season

I tried my best to be positive about the Moore signing. I tried to find the silver lining and even talked about his "team" attitude.

Notice the past tense. Now? I got nuthin'...

I heard Webb was in town for the Maroon 5 concert and someone I know knows someone who actually saw him at Center Court. I would rather give Chris Webber the vet minimum and just let him stand on the court and pass than continue to watch the horrors of Mikki Moore trying to catch a ball, or on those rare occasions when he does manage to catch it, have to live with the momentary HOPE that he'll actually be able to dribble it up the court and not off his own feet, etc.

There, I said it and I'm not sorry.

:p

The funny thing is, as a Jersey boy and bit of a closet Nets fan, I was actually sorry to see Mikki go because he gave them a much needed energy boost. He always seemed to finish everything, which made him look incredible playing next to Jason Collins who can't finish anything. I guess it was all an illusion becuz Vince Carter always just looked for him out of double teams...oh yea and there was Jason Kidd. One of the worst free agent signings in Sacramento Kings history.

can't wait though, for the day moore has one good game, someone starts a "mikki moore, any questions?!" thread, and then he goes right back to being moore. :p

Here's, the first, and likely only, hint of Mikki defense you'll hear:

For the same reason that I was warning people not to expect too much -- i.e. I watch the league and have watched him play for years and years -- I now have to say that his play thus far has been below even his less than stellar standards. In other words, I expect him to get better at some point. Not good certainly -- he is not and never has been a good NBA big. But better. He can hit those jumpers he's missing for instance.

Several questions arise: 1) his age -- slowing down?; 2) the contract year effect, given a huge boost by the Jason Kidd effect, but that should only have caused him to revert to his previous low level competence ratehr than the raging suck he is right now; and 3) a remark Reggie made about him not coming into training camp in great shape. Could be related to the contract again -- finally struck it rich, took it easy. Wonder if that plays in at all? Problem is that he doesn't look out of shape, just incompetent. Stamina has not been a problem, skill has.

Mikki's one of those energy players capable of going in for extended funks, made all the more glaring because he doesn't have the prototypical big man strength of rebounding and shotblocking to back him up. If he struggles to touch the ball, lest catch the ball, he's already a detriment. When his jumper is not there, made all the more so. His height is an illusion by the mere fact that he's skinny--back down back down score over him. There's a reason why his contract year is a fluke--but perhaps more importantly, why he is a journeyman to begin with.

About the potential "Mikki Moore, any questions" thread you won't hear that from me. I just think that everyone is making premature statements about Moore.

As an example, Beno went from a B+ vs the Timberwolves game on 11-10 to D+ vs Jazz 11-12 the next game (according to Bricklayer's grades). However, I don't see anyone blaming Beno, for 5 turnovers and only one board in 29 minutes. I don't think a single person jumped on him for that effort just because he had a really good game in his Kings debut.

No, Moore hasn't had a good game, but if Beno had his bad game in a debut, then people wouldn't have such lofty goals for him.

I think at the end of the season Moore will either not be playing at all (like KT or SAR) or will have the highest FG% on the team. I've said enough of my feelings on Moore, I refuse to engage in chat about Moore until halfway through the season. At that time, my viewpoints will be different, I just hope everyone else's viewpoints are also different.

premature statements about a 9 year journeyman whose one good season came during a contract year playing along side jason kidd?

the days of players suddenly becoming better once they put on a kings uniform are long gone by now...:(

UPDATE.....UPDATE.....Mikki Moore has 3 rebounds in 27 min. I'd rather see Hawes starting he did get 4 reb in 12 min.

Exactly. What is the point of playing Mikki instead of Hawes? Personally, I'd like to see Hawes and Williams get most of the minutes at center and pf and everybody else can play rock paper scissors on the bench for the rest of the year...

From what Hawes said to Grant, I think they're bringing him in slowly to make sure the knee is fully healed. Other than that, who knows?

Yes, in an interview on the radio with Theus yesterday, he said they were building his minutes up. They were eventually expecting 20-25 minutes/game for Hawes.

lol. what a joke. alot of people think moore had a good game. the guy scored 9 points in 26 minutes. had 3 rebounds. beno is a better rebounder than mikki moore. he is just bad. bottom line.

Eddy Curry Line Update

the Eddy Curry Line was originally established to put a spotlight on how truly anemic Curry's overall fantasy line is. It can be used to help establish which players are among the best and worst, in terms of efficiency of production, for fantasy basketball. The standard: a player must average more turnovers than assists, steals, and blocks combined – in order to qualify, a player must have appeared in at least half of his team's games and averaged at least 25 minutes of playing time.

Worse players:
Zach Randolph: 0.69:1
Rashad McCants: 0.80:1
Eddy Curry: 0.81:1
Mikki Moore: 0.92:1

Fourth worst player in the league by this metric. Quite an honor.

One of them killed us on Wednesday
2 of them will kill us tonight
the last one will be killing us for the next 3 years
