Mike Bibby 2007-2008 gone

I feel this is the end of bibby and the Kings. he is 28 years old he needs to relize he wants a ring and the kings are in rebuild mode. for a long time I was thinking nah....he will not leave he wants the money 12 a year or whatever.

think about it.

Mike Bibby the free agent. you really dont think the pacers, miami, cleveland, dallas, detroit, orlando freaking Golden state, CLIPPERS??? with shaun livingston out a yr and cassell like 90 dont call bibby?.

please he may have had a bad year and i really like mike...but he is still clutch. this is why i see him taking a pay cut for a ring.

funny

Typically players don't take pay cuts for rings in the supposed prime of their careers. Particularly when they have 12 million already coming and free agency just around the corner anyway.

No, Bibby would be a fool to take a pay cut. After this bad year, I'm sure he thinks he can get his value back up next season.

Now, the Kings might trade him this summer. If so, I'd like to see Bibby go to a contender and the Kings could, and hopefully would, benefit, too.

Bibby

I don't agree that he will take a pay cut for a ring at this point in his career, but I do agree that I think his days as a King are likely done. I think it was very telling that Bibby sat so much in the final few games while Artest ran a lot of minutes with the kids. Maybe I am reading too much into this, but I am not sure that Muss' best move if he was trying to save his job with a few more wins was to bench Bibby in favor of the youth. I think he was catering to management's request to see how Artest synched with the young gunners as Petrie evaulated next season. We aleady know the Kings want to become a move athletic, versatile, definsive unit. Bibby definitly doesn't fit that mold. I think his days here are very limited. I think you're reading WAY too much into it. Especially if you're thinking Artest would have gone meekly to the bench and stayed there.

While I cannot speak with absolute certainly, I am beyond reasonably sure he was taken out of games only to put himself back in shortly thereafter. I know I saw it at least once and suspect it happened more often than that.

Depending upon who we get in the draft, Mike could still be a very valuable piece of our team. With the right big, for example, he could conceivably be part of a very dynamic pick and roll again, as he has been in the past.

He will milk us dry, then when hes passed his prime he will go win a championship as a bench player (Payton, Richmond...).

Supposedly Mike went and talked to Muss and asked to play fewer minutes in the last games. He also said he wanted to see Ronnie get a chance to play more minutes. Apparently Bibby is a big supporter of Price and wants to see him succeed. Too bad Ronnie hurt himself.
