May 8th

I'm not really sure what the option is to undoing the Orlando agreement. There's no agreement any more, due to our loser lying owners.

I don't think there's any fundamental reason why a similar agreement couldn't be reinstituted if by some miracle an ownership group that wanted to stay in Sacramento acquired the team. The only thing that would need to fundamentally change would be the construction dates.

Can a mod change the thread title to "May 8th"?

I know that KJ was going to work on a plan B during this meeting but I didn't realize that there was going to be a recommendation to completely undo the old Orlando agreement. If so, I'm hoping that this doesn't give the Maloofs more leverage. I'm just worried that with no viable arena plan anymore, the other owners may be willing to give these guys an easier relocation pass.

If I read it right, it merely rescinds the resolution that was passed to go forward with the plans as outlined in Orlando. Since that deal is in fact dead this is pretty much a procedural matter. I doubt if this gives the Maloofs any more leverage in anything. And I seriously doubt if the other owners are going to see it that way. It was the Maloofs who killed the deal. The City Council is just taking THAT deal off the payroll, so to speak.

Agreed. They had previously stated that their votes are contingent upon all parties agreeing. When that didn't happen, they have to pull the plug.
