Mavs make offer for Artest

Beno/Singletary/Douby
Martin/Stackhouse/Douby
Salmons/Garcia/Bass
Bass/Thompson/Moore
Miller/Hawes/Moore

That doesn't sound too shabby IMO.

EDIT: I put Douby last on all rotations because, frankly, I don't think he'll be much of an asset to this team. Average handles for point, and small size for 2 guard makes him hard to fit. I really don't like how he's being somewhat of a ball hog during summer league right now, forcing up a lot of shots. I think Singletary will evolve to be a better player than Douby in a couple of months as well.

Did anybody watch Bass play the hornets in the playoffs? He was very impressive, but I don't know if that's a Jerome James situation or if this kid will be a force in the future. He and Dirk were the only guys who showed up, and Bass was killing NO.

Absolutely. I saw the same thing. He was killing NO down low and on the boards. He had some major jams in that series also.

I'm not that thrilled about Brandon Bass. He's strong and active, but I think his ceiling is just a slightly more athletic version of Shelden Williams or a stronger version of Justin Williams, neither of which have gotten minutes on our team. And Stackhouse for two years would cancel out the benefits of adding Bass. He'd take minutes away from our young players and keep us at the bottom of the lottery for two more years.

I liked Justin WIlliams but Bass has more offensive talent in his big toe than Justin had on his best day. As far as Bass being a slightly more athletic version of Shelden...That same big toe has more BB IQ.

A young big for Artest, I do not know if the Kings can realistically ask for much more than that... honestly, I feel the Kings will be lucky to move Artest for anything but second round picks and enders. (reference Bibby, Mike)

Petrie won't settle for that package, I don't think.
I would HOPE not...I wouldnt do ANY trade for William unless it involved one John Howard coming to the Sacramento Kings. We dont need anymore 'movable pieces' trades anymore, dammit! How bland of a team would we be if we did that trade...not that we're the greatest and most exciting now, but c'mon, ball hog Stackhouse and Bass?? We can do better than THAT hopefully.

I really dont like stack personally, but he's a good player. he's better than any player we have coming off the bench.

Is there a third team interested in Stack? What's he worth these days anyway?

he played solid last year 10 ppg.. mostly off the bench..
Hes a vet that alot of contenders would love to have off the bench..
We could prolly get a young prospect or a pick for him.
Or package him with (Miller, Moore,SAR,Salmons) and try and get a quality player.

Sure we do, because if we plan on rebuilding faster we are going to have to trade our way out of this mess we are in, and Stack could be a valuable piece in a package to help move our vets. And If not he expires after next year so who cares.

You've got to be kidding me. He's not even comparable to either S. Williams or J. Williams. He's light years better than those guys.

i dont think bass will make us a contender. we could use him off the bench once we get a true center. and sign guys once we clear some space

So Hawes is not the true center after one season coming off the bench? Yikes.. You sound like you are on a one year "prove it or get lost" plan eh?

Bass sucks for a long term solution.. Maybe as a bench player, but there are a ton of jumpshooting 6'7 PFs out there.. If Petrie wanted one he could have drafted White/Hickson/Hendrix.

I guess Bass is either a love him or hate him type of player. Look... Like I said above there are at least 10 6'7 PFs in each years draft that are all bulked up that can play some D, and knock down a midrange jumper. Bass or Stackhouse will not solve any problems for us at all. I would assume keep Artest and let him expire.

Bass+Stack to me...it's like might as well trade Artest for a piece of trash...they can't help for the future.

If we are trading Artest let's get something good...let's not do what we had to do with Bibby...trade him for scraps.
