Matt Barnes

Since all the trade threads will start soon, I hereby appeal for us to bring our Sacs finest back home. Even if he will be on the lower end of the bench, I would love to have him back.

You need a hometown hero on the team. Remember the Knicks game and how Matt bailed us out ;)

DO IT!!! and then get jermaine, pierce, kg, webber, lebron, kobe, stoudemire, duncan, brand, or shaq. no others will make me satisfied

I believe I read somewhere, that Matt does want to test his luck in Sacto again. And you know what, there are DEFINATLY worse 11/12 men in this league. Get er' done.

I'd like to see him back as well, and he is a free agent, so we don't need to trade or anything. There should be at least one roster spot, since Tag is gone.

tag is gone? then who is our back up center? skinner just cant cut it....

barnes is cool though....

No, we need to trade two or three guys for a formidable leader, preferably one who plays defense.

I think we have a leader. What we do not have is defensive stopper and rebounder. If we get that, then our off season will be successful. My opinion, for what it's worth, is to keep our "BIG THREE" of Peja, bibby, and Miller. Use the other players to trade to get 1 GOOD defensive player. He doesn't have to score a bucket as far as I am concerned as long as he can rebound and get stops. I must add that I would HATE to see BJax go.

Matts a hustla, ask about him! remember that play off of massenscrubs leg?

Okay, people - during the off-season it becomes very important to try and stay on-topic or every single thread will end up repeating the same thing...

The topic here is MATT BARNES.

Matt is going to be a free agent and could most likely be picked up for chump change. He's not going to be a main building block but it certainly wouldn't hurt to have the home-town favorite back in the fold.

I'd virtually guarantee Matty comes back to Sac next year.

Sixers don't want him (obviously). He won't command any serious cash, not even the LLE. He'd prefer to play in Sac than anywhere else, and nobody else is going to be offering much more. Add that to the fact that he was an excellent contributor when he was here, and I'd be surprised if he's not on the team.

I would love to see Matt back in Sac! :) I thought he played well off the bench with Eddie and Mo. He plays with heart and that's what I want to see. It broke my heart to see him sitting on the sixers bench. :( He wasn't even dressed for the 1st home game that Webber played in Arco.

I wonder what kind of money it would take for Matt to be signed. Would he settle for the min.?
Probably. He shoed some game in a few outing for Sac but Philly burried him. He has NEVER gottne much press and has already bounced arround the leage a bit... all the signs of vet min player.

I think its entirely possible he comes back. Think he might want to, he knows the system, and Rick seemed to have growing confidence in him before he got dumped into The Trade to make the salaries work.

That said, he should be on the back half of the bench if he returns. Barring some roster clearing mega-trade that netted us a true superstar, I would consider it a bad sign if Matt Barnes resigned with the Kings as anything above a 9th-12th man.

Ditto that, but talk about value for your money..

To get a 10th man of Barnes' caliber for less tham $1M is a bargain.

It's pretty clear he wants to come back. He pretty much said so to Tank Thompson and Jim Kozimor when they talked to him after the last Philly appearance at Arco. In fact, Matt had to finally tell Tank to quit talking about it because he didn't want to get in trouble with the league. Tank did, but then his final comment was "Well, we'll see you here next season." And Matt said, "I sure hope so!"

Skinner could cut it as a backup, just not as a starter. Do you think O-Tag cut it as a backup? If Skinner's the backup, you just have to make sure you have size in your starting PF.
