Kingsgurl said:Why would Matt be a Restricted FA? He signed a one year deal with the Kings. Am I missing something? To my knowledge he is free as a bird.
VF21 said:Hmmm. If you look on Brickie's OFFICIAL free agent list, it shows Matt as restricted...maybe it's just a clever ploy on the part of the Sixers to keep us from getting him back.

If a player's type reads Restricted it means that the player meets the requirements to be a restricted free agent only if the team presents a qualifying offer in the appropraite amount to the player at the conclusion of the player's current contract. If the qualifying offer is not tendered to the player, the player will be an unrestricted free agent.
This will make sixer's GM very very busy.Entity said:Yes Barnes is restrictd but, so is Dalembert, Korver, Rodgers, and Willie Green. I don't think Philly will waist much time trying to match any offer Barnes gets especially if he is the 13th man that just made the numbers work for Webber. Besides i bet Philly spends most of its time shopping Webber around.

I am so confused. I've thought all along it worked the other way. That a restricted free agent could accept offers from other teams but his current team had the right to match any offer and keep him.

How can we throw an offer for Dalembert when all we can offer is MLE and it would take more than that for Dalembert to even consider.dbl07 said:Philly won't be interested in Matt. Dalembert is gonna command serious money that Philly will match. I doubt Philly will be able to even keep Korver. We would be able to get Barnes, unless another team offers Matt considerably more (doubt it). We should go for Matt, even throw in an offer to Dalembert(Gonna be one of the best big men in the league in 2-3 years. You heard it here)
