i would love it if we could get shawn marion somehow..... i know the suns need a couple expiring contracts that we dont have.... but it would be nice!

edit: im sorry if this has been discussed before......
 
A few times, but it no longer looks realistic (and frankly the Suns would be idiots to let him go). So probably not much to discuss. Theoretically they could like Brad as a center, but then they would have no SF. Even more theoretically they might want to get back the three point shooting they lost in the Q trade, and depend on Kurt Thomas to handle the rebounding/defense -- hence Marion for Peja + others. But of course given that Peja would become yet ANOTHER max player for them next year, seems doubtful.


In any case, we missed our window on that one last summer in all liklihood.

Marion is a great player, but he was completely shutdown by Bruce Bowen in the playoffs. He's a big name with a big contract and that's really out of the question for the Kings it seems.
 
Ok..let's be realistic. Suns are not gonna trade Marion. If they do..they are idiots. Shawn is the most underrated NBA player in the league and if the suns want what's best for them, they better keep Shawn

Well he certainly isn't the most underpaid!
 
but he was shut down by bowen.... and he has the ugliest shot in the known universe....
 
so what, first off Bruce is if not the best defender in the league, the second best. Not saying that's an excuse to why he was shut down..but great defense beats great offense. And he may have the ugliest looking shot, but most of his shots go down every time, which makes it a beautiful shot

He wouldn't be brought in to bolster our shooting and if getting shut down by Bowen means he's not qualified to be a Sacramento King, then we're going to have to cut a few guys loose and spend a season or two (or three) trying to find someone who hasn't been shut down by Bowen to fill that small forward spot.

forgive my ignorance, but who is the best defender in the league??
 
foretaz, why don't you tell us who's the best defender in the league, since we all are talking such blasphemy. And if you are thinking I was going to say Doug, I really wasn't. Doug is a great defender, but he's not the best in the league. I'd like to think he's the best, but really

Wow ImD24_7 now you've really got me thinking (i would have bet my house you'd have gone for Doug!)

Well i dont know who you would nominate, but i do know Jason Kidd gets his fair share of steals so that ought to put him up there with the condenders.He'd be my nomination (after DC13 of course!!;) )
