Lynx win WNBA Draft Lottery

Forget the number 2 pick, (welcome to Phoenix Cappie Pondexter)....this is the 3rd year in the row that Charlotte has gotten a lottery pick and the 2nd year that San Antonio has been screwed out of getting into the lottery.

Unless something weird happens Seimone Augustus - LSU goes #1, Monique Currie - Duke winds up in Charlotte @#3.

Monarchs right now would pick @ #13 and #14.

Don't the Monarchs get San Antonio's first pick? for the Chantelle trade....

I wish.

No, we get San Antonio's pick that they acquired from Connecticut in the Dydek trade. AKA the last pick in the first round since CT ended up with the best regular season record.

I'm just hoping not to lose Haynie or Newton right now....

I could stand to lose Maiga, Scott, and both Chinese players.

Would love to keep Buescher, would hate to lose Haynie.

I'm hoping Whiz can do what he's hoping for, pull off some sort of trade with Chicago and send them a couple draft picks instead of Haynie.

(can you tell I'm convinced Haynie won't be protected? there's no way Haynie is protected over Newton)
If we're able to keep our core, anything else from the draft is gravy.

I can't see Hayne being protected either

Under the circumstances, if Whiz can't do a deal, Hayne would get gobbled up right away by Chicago with her mid-west appeal. Might not be that bad a worse-case scenario. While, she is a great role player, I wonder if her health will ever allow her to be a 30 plus minute player. If not, we still don't have a true successor for Tish. I wonder if we could move up far enough to get a decent point guard by packaging 13 and 14. Then we could just let her move back east.

This could be it fot the Lynx. We'll see what happens with our #1 pick. ALOT of Lynx fans keep trying to convince themselves (and everyone else) that we'll still try to get Whalen. In reality, Coach T would be a moron if he gets rid of Whalen. As much of a fan of hers I am, and I would LOVE to see her back in Minnesota, it's never going to happen. At least not yet..

I would take Haynie in a heartbeat on the Lynx, she'll most likely end up in Chicago (if she goes anywhere, bonus, a 6 hour drive to watch her play). I guess the player everyone is looking at of course is SA.

I was in a commercial shoot yesterday for the Gophers women's team and there was alot buzz about the number one pick. Alot of the fans there don't follow the Lynx, but they are excited for the season and see what happens with our #1 pick. This could be a good year for attentence, since we get next to none in the stands already. I'll keep you posted on things here in Minnesota if I hear of any trades or anything.
