poetic this is coming the same day as De’Aaron’s return
Wonder how this will affect out coaching bench depth for remainder of the season. Now down two assistants (if you count Doug moving up).
There season is over. I wonder how common it is for an assistant coach to leave a team for a job with 20 games left, especially since it’s the offseason.
I actually like the Stockton head coach, I wonder if he gets a shot.
I think he has to immediately begin recruiting college job far busier than a pro job.I would think he finishes out the season to collect his full salary

The portal is the way but also NIL and one and dones are still a thing and he has to re-recruit the current team, any prospects, plus his own improvements through the portal and any potential uncommitted one and dones.FSU's season isn't quite over. They still have one regular season game and then the ACC Tournament, but they won't go to March Madness unless they run the table at the ACC Tourney. I would assume that Hamilton is going to coach out the season, but Loucks will need to get going soon as the college portal has become the primary method of acquiring players, and that goes hot while the tournament is still in motion.

One thing about Brown is he did put together an excellent assistant staff. I raved about all of them when they were announced. Loucks seemed to take an unfortunate share of the blame after being named "defensive coordinator" but it is clearly a matter of them doing what was assigned from above. Kudos to Brown for not firing or demoting any of his guys if that was the case, but really we hired a guy and thought we were getting a defensive mindset and got poopoo on that end.Good for him, I think with the coaching change of Brown we were able to see some of the defensive system issues were indeed not Loucks just like they weren't with Jordi the previous years either.

Maybe but we went from a top 12-13 defense to 20th until recently. The last 5 games got us back to 15-16 at last check. I like how we look now but having Jonas and Laravia plus Fultz and Keon getting run has been the biggest difference imo.

I know some were hard on the dude but I think we'll miss him. Hope we can get some reinforcements for Doug. Seemed like a good dude who was very active in the pre-game shootarounds at the Kings games I attended in Portland.Good call. Sounds like his final game is tonight

Because he took a new job. This is pretty much the most important part of the college season right now.Wait, he left the team already? Why?
Or is this just a presser and he'll be back to finish the season?

I thought I saw a new face on the bench last night, a redheaded fellow over forty. Checking the replay, it looks like Jim Moran has been promoted.

Loucks will be the head coach beginning next season. Leonard Hamilton (current FSU head coach) will be stepping down at the end of the season.Ya, but I guess I thought the existing coach would finish the season. This is a bit odd to bring in a new coach right at tournament time, right?
