Long wait may be over :)

Official injury report from the Kings:

DeMarcus Cousins continues to participate in full team practices as he works his way back from viral meningitis and has been upgraded to questionable for Thursday's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks (13-12).

The possible return of Cousins would be welcomed by the squad, who in his ten-game absence, have gone 2-8.

Rudy Gay and Reggie Evans have been added to the team's injury report with Gay working through right achilles tendinitis, and Evans healing from a left knee and hip contusion sustained against OKC on Tuesday. Gay is listed as probable and Evans is listed as questionable.

Additionally, Omri Casspi remains questionable for Thursday's tilt with a left knee bone contusion.

Casspi has missed Sacramento's previous five games due to injury.

Ty Corbin just said on KHTK that he'll see how Cousins feels tomorrow morning following good workout this afternoon with team. Thus evaluation or re-evaluation of his status could change or be game time decision.

Has anyone ever seen the movie "In A Lonely Place"? The timing of this announcement reminds me of the way that movie ends. Maybe I'm the only movie nerd here...

Ah, Dixon Steele. ;) That was one of my mother's favorite Bogart movies. They don't write characters like Dixon Steele any more, possibly because there aren't actors like Bogie to bring them to life.
Capt. Lochner: [Dixon has replied with sarcasm to Lochner's questions] You're told that the girl you were with last night was found in Benedict Canyon, murdered. Dumped from a moving car. What's your reaction? Shock? Horror? Sympathy? No - just petulance at being questioned. A couple of feeble jokes. You puzzle me, Mr. Steele.

Dixon Steele: Well, I grant you, the jokes could've been better, but I don't see why the rest should worry you - that is, unless you plan to arrest me on lack of emotion.

Hopefully they don't put him on a serious mins restriction if he is back 2morro, just let him go all out since we don't have another game for like 4 days after, he will have plenty of time to rest. He should be able to play a good proportion of time just on pure adrenaline of being back.

I expect restricted minutes. It might take some time to get his stamina back. I'm not sure everybody understands how serious this illness was, nor how debilitating. I don't want them to rush him and have him get sick again,

Yes indeed. A true classic. Can't get enough Bogie. :)

...wait a second...

Bogie , Boogie , Boogie , Bogie

Perhaps it was destiny?

OK this site is rife with Movie Nerds :-)

It will be great to see Boogie back even if he just sits on the bench and makes a guest appearance on the floor.

Damn, that picture of Boogie and Malone makes me sad...

But.. maybe thats not the point of this thread. Come on Boogie! Can't wait to see him back out there, even in limited minutes.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- DeMarcus Cousins appears ready to return from a serious bout with viral meningitis when the Sacramento Kings host the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night.
The Kings upgraded Cousins' status from questionable to probable. He has been able to participate in portions of practice the past few days and his minutes will likely be limited.
Sacramento has gone 2-8 without their franchise center. The Kings fired coach Michael Malone late Sunday night during the losing skid and promoted lead assistant Tyrone Corbin to interim coach.
Cousins is averaging career highs of 23.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
The Kings also said Reggie Evans is out with a bruised left knee and hip and Omri Casspi is out with a bruised left knee. Rudy Gay is probable with right Achilles tendinitis.

Let's go, baby. Unleash the beast. DMC! DMC! DMC!

i know this sounds ridiculous but it sucks that his PPG/RPG numbers will take a major hit if he's really only going to play like 10 or 15 minutes.

not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things but to people that don't pay attention and just look at numbers, it could really hurt his All-Star bid

And DMC being an All-Star is one of the few happy possibilities left in this season

I hope that this is one of those "rays of sunshine after a crazy storm that peaks through the clouds moments"... because it has been rough going for a couple of weeks, even by our standards.
