Yeah, with the mane and two horns and "hulking" front end. They are not too attractive an animal and look like a mix of a lot of animals. Babies are still cute, tho.

Probably more often called a wildebeest, than a gnu. And is actually a type of antelope.

When I was a young I wanted to grow up and be a wildlife biologist. Wanted to go to Africa since I was little. After college, I got to go and it was the most awesome trip. It was a class out of UCLA and we were accompanied by a biology professor. My identification skills are rusty tho. I'll never forget the gerenuk antelopes. So dainty and fragile looking. Like many animals in extremely dry habitats, drinks its own urine for hydration. The birds in Africa were absolutely incredible in variety, too.
I can't believe I watched that waterhole for about 1/2 hour.
