Lenny Wilkins for Coach?

Looks like Lenny Wilkins is looking to make a return to coaching.

"Wilkens has had discussions with others regarding a potential return to coaching..."

Although he will probably end up in Seattle he is probably the type of coach that we need with this club. An old guy. We should have got Don Nelson when we had the chance. I don't think they would disrepect him the way they do Muss.

Wilkens is not the answer AT ALL. Things are bad right now, but not THAT bad.

San Antonio Express-News claims Muss' job is safe

(We hear that) the reeling Kings would love to make a deal, but not one that sends Ron Artest elsewhere . . .
That in spite of the team’s sad season and his personal embarrassment from the suspension that followed his plea bargain on a DUI charge, Eric Musselman is in no immediate trouble in Sacramento. Musselman – Sacramento Bee columnist Marty McNeil refers to him as “the little dude” – still has the support of the Maloofs, and in that organization, that is what matters most . . .

smoking something... never liked LW as a coach. the guy might have alot of wins but when sh-- gets deep, he could never get the most out of his players like RA does.

Listening to Wilins announce games for Seattle on LP I totally understand why he is the losingest coach in the history of the game, he just happens to be the winningest because you can't lose them all and he coaced for so long.

Even if Lenny was the answer, which he's most definitely not -- all he does is coach losing squads anymore -- I'm quite sure that the last thing he would want to do in his dotage is stumble into a losing situation helmed by Ron Artest of all people.

Seems like a lot of people think firing Muss will help (myself included) but no one want to throw a suggestion out there for the next coach?

I know that we have a crappy record, but I say we give Muss at least one more season to turn things around... I mean this is his first season back as a coach. This is a new system for players, and things take time...Remember the preseason this year??? How good everyone looked and was actually playing defense! Mainly Bibby, before he hurt his wrist and decided to bomb the rest of the year and not play any defense or really try to contribute to the team... I think muss will be a good coach, he just needs the right players, give it some time....Next season I think we will have a decent team... Alot of expireing contracts, I am praying bibby opts out of his contract so we can free up another 10 mill in the offseason....The future is bright my fellow kings fans, just take it one day at a time....

I think it unfortunate that we missed the boat on Nellie, but that obviously wasn't the sort of direction that anyone was considering at the time.

With the list of available candidates of the moment, I guess I'd be wondering if Vlade wants a job this summer. Re-sign Corliss for a couple of years with plans to transition him into the coaching staff after that. Inexperienced? Sure. But at least the players would like them, respect them, and have a little patience while they got the bugs out. The Muss regime reminds me more of what happens when you put a clueless ROTC noob in charge of a platoon of hardened combat veterans. It's lucky for Muss there's no friendly fire in the NBA, so he just gets ignored instead.

There's a reason why there are so many unemployed coaches available, they're not very good. Adelman is HEADS and SHOULDERS above the rest and, well, he likely won't come back.
