Ends with a bit of a cliffhanger.
Understatement of the year.

I don't think it was as good as the first, but not bad at all. I'd see it again. Ends with a bit of a cliffhanger.
so is it worth full price or matinee? it didn't get great reviews here on the east as far as the story goes, and so i ended up letting my girlfriend pick the devil wears prada instead.![]()
Okay, there is a fairly long thread in the Lounge about POC2. One thing I'd ask everyone to remember is NOT everyone has seen it yet, so if you have to discuss it, please don't ruin it for others.

Hence the reason we posted no spoilers, mate. Saavy?![]()
Since when? He has never averaged a block per game. Not in one single season in the NBA. Brad Miller is a better shot-blocker than Gooden. That would be very good for us, especially if K-9 can be sent somewhere. Gooden blocks shots and is a geat rebounder.
Gooden is NOT our, or an answer, for improving our interior defense. Plus, he wants a lot of money, and is not worth trading Bonzi for.
Overall it's not realistic... Larry Hughes is there and then you have Gooden's overall situation. Let the Bulls/Cavs/Wizards go after him.
Oh, they could use him... sure. I wasn't saying that, just that it's unlikely because Bonzi won't be coming off the bench, questionable whether Hughes does or they want to do that, and do they even want to give Hughes up. Plus they're really high on Shannon Brown and he'll be playing right away off the bench as a back-up SG/PG.
Not if they get Bonzi he won't.
Kids are kids. Sometimes you get a good one. But in any draft you'd be lucky to get 3 or 4 in the entire draft as good as Bonzi (crazy years like 2003 aside). Especially when you're trying to move into contention to convince LBJ to sign that next big extension, no time to worry about the Shannon Browns of the world.
I actually hope we sign and trade Bonzi for a good player, possibly Nene or Camby (we'd probably have to give them something else for this). If we really needed another swingman afterwards, I would love to sign Ariza. I think the kid has A LOT of potential at only 21 years old.

Whats going on with the Bonzi situation or are there no updates so far?
I hate to knitpick, but this is in line with the general overrating of Bonzi on this board. While its true that Bonzi is definitely better than most first rounders (and is likely better than Shannon Brown will evetr be), there are usually anywhere from 6-12 players that I would say are CLEARLY better than him in any given draft, and maybe some who are arguably as good or better.
No updates so far. Of course, there is the whole "ARENA" thing going on.

I could see them being quiet for at least a day or two. I wouldn't think they would want to take away any of the attention from the agreement that been reached before it becomes "just old news." While they have the publics attention, it's a good time to put in some overdue groundwork in terms of education and such.No updates so far. Of course, there is the whole "ARENA" thing going on.

^^ I'll start with 2002, 04 and 05 are to soon to tell, and 03 was pretty unusual.
02 - Yours plus Boozer. Gooden is at least comparable, he's a great rebounding big man with offensive skill. That's 5-6.
01 - Yours plus Arenas, and Randolph is pretty safe I think. 7.
00 - You're right. Bad draft. But Redd is clearly better, I would say Kenyon is pretty safe, and maybe Magloire. 2-3
99 - Brand, AK-47, Marion, Manu, Steve Francis, Andre Miller, Baron Davis, and Artest are better for sure. J-Terry and Rip hamilton are arguable. 8-10.
98 - Bonzi drafted, but Dirk, Vince, Miller, Pierce, Antawn, Rashard Lewis, and Bibby are better for sure. 7 + a few comparables.
I need to leave work now so....
97- I count 4
96 - 12
95 - 6
There's a thing in the NBA draft section of espn.com where John Hollinger goes over the drafts since 95 and shows how it would probably go now. I just looked at them quickly and picked the gus I think are better.
So most years I think 6-12 are better.
I think that Bonzi might be a little underrated league-wide, but is also overrated on this board.
