"The 6-foot-11 (Jamaal) Magloire is in the centre of swirling trade talks involving the Milwaukee Bucks, for whom he played last season in something of a secondary role and a team poised to hand the centre's job to second-year former No.1 draft pick Andrew Bogut."

"Once July 1 comes around and teams are starting to make moves, (Milwaukee general manager) Larry Harris has some decisions to make," Magloire said yesterday after unveiling his star on the newly opened Scarborough Walk of Fame. "If that's with me staying in Milwaukee, that's fine; if not, I'll be able to do my work wherever I am."

"The Bucks moved Bogut out of position to power forward last season, to let him learn the ropes from Magloire, but Harris said after Milwaukee's first-round playoff exit that Bogut will be at centre next season. And while it's conceivable Milwaukee would use Magloire in a backup role, it's unlikely to sit well with the veteran, who is entering the final year of a contract that will pay him $8.3 million (U.S.) next year."

"I'm not sure what intention (Bucks management) has for me, but I know I'll be fine whether I'm in Milwaukee or anywhere else," Magloire said."

"Magloire has been diplomatic about this past season and his future with the franchise, but with 2005 first overall pick Andrew Bogut being the long-term answer in the middle for the Bucks, Magloire's days in Milwaukee appear to be numbered."

Magloire: "The fact that I'm still under contract with Milwaukee (one year at just over $8 million US), I'm only entitled to talk about that team." When asked about playing for the Raptors when he becomes a free agent, Magloire said: "All I can say is, it's always good to come home in the summertime."

I certainly wouldn't mind bringing Magloire in. Very solid player and underrated IMO. While he's not a very good shotblocker, he defenitly alters a lot of shots with his bulk in the paint. Has a nice little hook shot, can score when he needs to but plays with in himself Also a very good rebounder on both ends. He pretty much complements our biggest holes.

I would want to talk to him about stowing his homesick little boy routine regarding Toronto though. Could be useful, as ONE move (then the second would be to get the shotblocker), but not if he's goign to run back home to mommy next summer and it turns out to be just a one year rental.

If he isn't traded to Toronto this summer (for Joey Graham and others?), he'll sign with them next summer.

Can we throw either KT or Corliss their way and a filler for him? That way we can get a "big" to help out Miller. We were trying a deal using KT previously involving D. Mason which the bucks got Magloire for...so why not since their shopping him already? He could start at the 4/5 with Reef off the bench. Sounds nice if Brad can play better at the 4. Should we trade Miller too?
