Who will win game 6?

It has gone too far. Which of course it would.

Its just lazy. And people commit the same intellectual sin again and again in all walks of life. Its how we invented sky gods and river spirits to explain thigns we didn't understand and had no control over. And once it takes root and you embrace it, you are never free of it. Anything and everything CAN be a conspiracy, could be a random god at work, and so you will just break it out again and again and again, only of course when you are not happy with something. And there's no way to ever truly disprove it, so it becomes a perfectly self satisfied and self perpetuating delusion.

Opposing theories or bits and pieces of evidence to the contrary will be torn to shreds and rationalized in order to keep the CT alive. That's another facet of the game. Now excuse me while I continue my Sasquatch research...

The main thing for my boys is to win Game 6. The longer they take this series, the stronger they get. Also, Perkins is out, that doesn't bode well for the depth of the Celtics. Win Game 6, and it becomes very interesting.

You have a brilliant knack for overstating the obvious....

Sometimes the best message is not the most sophisticated. You want me to use calculus to analyze or present a take when it's as simple as winning the remaining games and they are world champions?

You want an honest answer? We really don't care. You're pretty much an uninvited guest that we've allowed to enter our home. Keep that in mind. This is KINGSFANS.COM We do not suffer fools gladly. The Laker fans who post here bring good takes on basketball and they leave the attitude at the door. I strongly suggest you do likewise.

Me to VF prior to the series. Good luck w/ the quote hunt.

"I'm actually concerned about the Smelts, only because they have HCA. If LA loses the first 2, you know how that goes. We didn't have Gasol in the 2 matchups, but still, neither were pretty. I'm concerned about our poor 3pt D and Radmanovic on Pierce.
...

I think Boston will win in 7, a thot which disgusts me. People can say they played like S [earlier in the playoffs], but they're not going to look past LA for obvious reasons."

You're being too reasonable and balanced. Does Donaghy have some dirt on you too? ;)

If it's any consolation to you, dredging up 2002 playoffs has almost completely taken the pleasure out of Kobe/LAL struggles in the finals this year. Almost.

We are sorry to irritate you I am sure. The problem is that this thing opens the whole can of worms. This is precicely the problem with the whole thing. There is a conspiracy, we know this for sure. The big questions are: how far up does it go and how widespread is it? Fans can and will question any call they like now and actually have legitimate right to do so. Kind of sux huh?

Apology accepted...please stop.

It's like a fly...you just want to enjoy your food but the damn pest keep flying around.

I'm a basketball fan. Anything that has basketball in it, i watch...yes even at times WNBA. My beloved Kings aren't playing but i would like to have Lakers win Game 6 so i can watch another basketball game after tonight. A Game 7 would be a dream come true. I'm not a Laker's fan but if 2 other teams are playing i tend to go with the underdog which in this series are the Lakers.
I like KG and especially Allen, but Kobe somehow reminds me of Jordan, i wouldn't mind who wins the Finals, i'm just here to watch a good game.

Bill Walton? Is that you?

Nope. Actually he was a Laker fan who has been here many times before under a variety of different names. And, as usual, he wore out his welcome fairly quickly.

:)

You know what my feel is? It's that in addition to your conspiracy concerns, the quality of the profession has ALSO slipped in the last 10 yrs as some of the better ones died, retired, resigned (or simply don't work much anymore). That compounds the problem.

Earl Strom
Jess Kersey
Tommy Nunez
Darrell Garretson
Hugh Evans
Ronnie Nunn
Hugh Hollins
Mike Mathis
Blaine Reichelt

vs.

Joey Crawford (whom Stern has reinstated not once, but twice, and who is now reffing his 7th Laker game this postseason)
Bennett Salvatore
Dick Bavetta
Bob Delaney
Jack Nies
Ken Mauer
Ed T. Rush
Steve Javie

sidenote: Violet Palmer and Zack Zarba are examples of the grim future.

You tell me why a group of about 10 refs are calling every damn playoff game. Guys with prejudices, guys who reffed suspect games, guys who rank among the highest in home team favoritism (Mauer, esp), guys whose egos precede them.

My lord, just how valuable is an elite roleplayer like Posey? Far more valuable than many a "good" or "talented" 15pt scorer methinks.

The rout is on. Boston by 23 at the half. Twenty-four minutes to mission accomplished. Quick question to masses, did anyone bet against a Laker fan on this series?

Footnote answer to the question, I bet 2 Laker fans whom were my former co-workers from down in Sonoma County. The prize I win if Boston wins, 2 Outback Steakhouse dinners. They will be over $50 each after the dinners are done. That will be enough payback from what they did in 2004 after the Lakers went further in the playoffs than the Kings that year.

Posey is like super Horry, clutch shooter even better defender and sacrifices his body, what a champ.

Kobe, never again will he be compared to Jordan, now we see what greatness is all about.

About time Kevin Garnett woke up, he finally got over the mental and physical hump, good for him.

I have bets with two different Laker fans and vastly different stakes. One involves dinner and a concert; the other involves an ad in the local paper.

GO CELTICS! 24 minutes to go...

wow.... kg, pierce and allen are 24 minutes away from a ring....

I almost can't believe I'm about to say this, but props to Danny Ainge for putting together a team to get the job done.

I want to see the Celtics totally humiliate The Team That Shall Not Be Named.

I want to thank the great god of basketball, Naismith, for hearing my plea.

I think there are a myriad of factors. Rajon Rondo's contributions cannot be overlooked, nor can James Posey's or even Eddie House or the Alien.

I continue to be impressed by the whole TEAM philosophy of the Celtics. There are a lot of egos out there and they've put it all aside for the greater good.

As can't I.

Oh well, this route couldn't have happened to a nicer team :D

Who would have thought that out of all the guys from our past, it would be Scot Pollard to get a ring?

Absolutely. Going into the finals the Lakers absolutely looked like the better team. From the start of game one however it became apparent that the Celtics were superior. No excuses. This sucks. This sucks a lot. Kings fans be ready to hear a lot about Artest because he is the guy that the Lakers need.

Do it Mitch.
