In a story talking about them looking to get Josh Smith, also said:

"In separate activity leading up to Thursday’s amateur draft, the Lakers are also open to trading Gasol to a team with a high first-round pick because they covet Kentucky freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Atlanta holds the 23rd pick and cannot help in that area."

Don't think I would like to see either end up in LA and have to play against them, but should we actually be concerned about this?

In their dreams.

Why any GM would be willing to trade a top 7 pick for an aging Gasol is well beyond me. None of the franchises in the top 7 are in a position where Gasol would put them over the top. In lieu of that, it makes absolutely no sense.
