Kobe injured?

Generally, I could care less about any Laker player being injured especially Kobe. However, seeing as how the Kings play the Lakers twice in the next two weeks, does anyone know what happened to Kobe tonight?

I read that he left the game with a leg injury.

He was injured in yesterday's game after a kick to the shin from Bruce Bowen. Not kidding.

Ups, wrong sports - never mind

was it his usual karate kick or did he try to make it less obvious this time around?

He always trys to keep it "unobvious", but he always fails. He doesn't have the benefit of the doubt anymore.

Bruce's response:

Bruce Bowen isn't dirty. He's a gritty, tough defender...

...and I am Mother Teresa.

A commentator on the Laker/Spurs game said fasiciously, "This isn't the first time Bowen's style of physical toughness created problems for a player. In fact, nobody likes to be touched by him. But being the player he is, expect Bowen to be on your face to do the dirty work. You may not like it, but that's too bad LOL."

He said it in referencing to touching.. I thought it was funny. (hehe)

Come on folks we are talking about a Kobe injury here, could be someting could be drama, heck could also be a nice saving face move to tank therest of the season. I would not get the torches and pitch forks ready to hunt down Bowen this time.

Hamblen's decision to pull him out and papers say Kobe asked why, so probably not too serious considering that one or two more wins is the difference between the 10th pick and the 12th pick.

Just don't overlook the fact that Bowen did kick him in the shin, injurious or not. That's one of Bowen's little tricks -- the 2nd worst of his tricks next to trying to sprain jumpshooters' ankles. Sucker leads with his feet, legs, hips on purpose.

I must say that I highly dislike (I usually use the word hate, but I am trying to be a kinder person) Kobe. However, my dislike for Kobe is nothing compared to my feelings about Bowen's play. There is no reason for the crap that he pulls. I don't care if it is against Kobe or not. Bruce Bowen sullies the game of basketball (that I love).

I agree! Plus, I had to respond because I love the use of the word "sullies."

Is it then bad for me to respond to your post G_M, because I too love the word sullies? Can I respond to 6th original use of the word, or respond directly to your use of it? Whatever, its still a great word.

at least it wasnt as obvious as what he did to vince carter...... wait.... nevermind.

Have to wonder about the legitimacy of Kobe's injury. If it is serious it would, of course, work in the Kings favor as Lamar Odom is already out. Is he down for the rest of the season, or just for the 5 required games?

Didn't see Bowen's antics in the Laker game, but I don't see how being a more physical type of player can ever give you the benefit of the doubt, but there are a lot of things I don't understand about the officiating in the NBA.

Haven't heard anything yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Kobe playing in at least one of those games. I don't think his injury is serious. He supposedly asked why he was being pulled from the Memphis game and the excuse from Hamblen was that Kobe was too rare of a commodity to risk anything at this point. Plus, they're already shelving Odom. He came back and was in his uniform on the bench, but they didn't use him that night, and now he's suddenly out for the season.
