Overall I considered my trade for Ellis about
even, considering the Timberwolves' team needs. I realized they had no starting quality SG or SF's. I remembered reading a comment that the Timberwolves' head coach and gm didn't think Jefferson and Love could play extended minutes together because of their defensive problems, and decided to keep Love over Jefferson, because Jefferson has higher trade value, and I think Love has more defensive potential.
I traded Rubio's rights for Andray Blatche, who has been playing at all-star level, so I didn't need Jefferson under center anymore. I got Ellis, who can put up a lot of points, something the Wolves didn't have at his position. Plus I tried to shore up depth on the wolves paper-thin roster by getting Anthony Morrow, a proven NBA level player, in exchange for my 26th pick, a low pick which could easily not pan out into NBA talent. What do you think, Brick?
