Kingsfans mock draft. You be the GM.. Multi-person mock draft.

With the 22nd pick of the 2008 NBA draft, the Orlando Magic select........ Chris Douglas-Roberts, University of Memphis.

Magic seem to be going SG all the way here. They are probably going to give Courtney Lee a long look, but I just can't imagine that they'll pass on someone as ready to contribute as CDR. He can give them outside shooting and slashing and some defense at the SG spot. Should be a no-brainer.

Excellent pick. I'm sure they'd like a big here, but CDR is too much talent to pass up considering the remaining bigs.

With the 23rd pick in the draft. The Utah Jazz select, Donte Greene...

Utah really doesn't have any glaring needs. They were very interested in Hibbert, but alas, he was gone. Donte Greene is just too big a talent at this point in the draft to pass on.

With the 24th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, the Seattle Sonics select Alexis Ajinca from France.

Now, I know what you're thinking, WTF another center, but the rest of them are busts and Ajinca is really talented. It's a nice gamble where they're picking.

With the 25th pick in the 2008 NBA draft, the Houston Rockets select
Nicolas Batum from France.

Rockets look for some insurance due to injury prone TMac. Strongly considered Jason Thompson, JJ Hickson among a couple others.

With the 26th pick in the 2008 draft, the San Antonio Spurs select Courtney Lee from Western Kentucky!

With Tony Parker and Ian Mahinmi in the wings, I hoped to find a French player to fill out the Musketeers, but alas Ajinca and (my favorite target here) Batum went at #24 and #25. I gave consideration to Thompson, but with Duncan, Oberto, Mahinmi, and the chance to bring back Horry and Kurt Thomas, the Spurs have other needs. Top on my list is finding an athletic perimeter defender to replace the aging Bruce Bowen, and Lee fits the bill. In addition, he should be a more complete offensive player than Bowen and as a senior he should be ready to step in and provide meaningful minutes immediately while the Spurs' championship window is still open.

With the 27th pick in the NBA draft the Portland Blazers pick

Mario Chalmers

The Blazers need a PG, and are surprised that Chalmers fell this far :)

With the 28th pick the Memphis Grizzlies select.....BILL WALKER from Kansas State.

I know that is a reach, but Walker has a ton of talent. And because Memphis is selecting so low in the first, and Walker was projected to go high in the second, i thought it was worth the reach.:D

With the 29th pick the Detroit Pistons select.....

JASON THOMPSON, 6-11 power forward from Rider.

Don't know "nothing" about him. He was slotted there by ESPN.:o

With the 30th pick in the NBA draft the Boston Celtics select Nathan Jawai..

I am not a fan of Glen Davis at all. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed either. The C's need to grab a legitimate PG or they need to go big. Since there aren't any PGs that are worthy of a 1st round pick left in the draft the C's take a project big with loads of talent in Jawai.

Hey Gary. I'm feeling really lucky of late. I picked Batum for the Houston Rockets knowing what they needed at #25. And to rub it in once more, I finished on top in our big NCAA final four tournament, picking the Kansas Jayhawks to win it all. What prize do I win:confused:

Edit: apparently Rockets are now sending Batum off to Portland (what, more talent headed up there!) for Arthur and second rounder.
