Kingsfan fantasy basketball leagues

I'm not sure if I was in JSin's league last year or not. I'm not sure if you know, but has he already started to send out those invites?

I just looked in my PM box and saw his invite from last year, so I guess I was in his league... Excellent (Mr. Burn's voice over)

I like the official league idea.

I want in if possible for the "official" league previously mentioned, please.

A thought I've had for this and football is to have it all in one year instead of over several...maybe something like a few leagues that go until the allstar break and then we manually (altho this would be kinda hard) put a certain amount of those ppl from each league into a new one with the same players and then do that again at playoffs, so that there is like an opening round, a second round, and a finals round of sorts. I think it would be harder and may not work, but yeah.

Where's my invite, KG? The guy who won your league last year can't get invited to return?

KG - Holdin' a brotha down since 2005... :p

You're not the commissioner. You're just a participant. The commissioner - Kingsgurl, for example - is the one who decides things like how many roster slots there will be for players, how many activity players will be allowed each night, which categories people will get points in, etc.

You're nowhere near ready to create your own league.

;)

that is why I asked for the rules

I would be more than happy to point you in the right direction if I understood what it was you were seeking...

Do you know the basics? Do you know how to participate in the draft? Do you know anything about fantasy participation?

Piksi- If you click on your team, it will show you the roster positions you will be drafting for along the left side, and across the top it will show you the scoring categories. It's a head to head league, so each week, you will be going up against another team, highest score in each category (except turnovers, natch) wins that category. At the end of the week, you will have wins and losses (or ties) for each category. For instance, if you win FG%, assists, turnovers and total rebounds, you would have 4 wins and 5 losses for the week (because there are 5 other categories

thanks

No bother at all! As you can see, you also have bench players, the trick is to set your roster with guys that are playing each day. You can do this on a daily basis (right up until game time) or set your roster for the week if you need to. If your player is playing in a real game, but sitting on your bench, you do not get points for whatever he does:)

Thanks, KG. I got sidetracked and didn't get back.

piksi - We were all new to fantasy leagues once. (Okay, in my case, they were originally conducted on cave walls, but the concept is the same.) ;)

There's a place on the League page where you can comment, ask questions of other league members, etc. It's always a good place to check for league info.

One thing to be very wary of is a lot of trades right at the beginning. I don't want to point any fingers, but some veteran players have been known to attempt to take advantage of newbies by offering outlandish trade deals.

When in doubt? Post a question on the board... a "Would you do this?" type of thing.

Good luck...

Oh, one more thing? Any trade I personally propose to you is solid gold. Grab it immediately.

:D

So - one has total of 10 players and picks 5 for the day ?

Nope, you have 15 players and play 10, if you can, each day. Some days, you will be able to field a full roster, often times, you will not.
