SACRAMENTO, CA ---- The Sacramento Kings today waived guard Larry Hughes. Hughes was acquired from the New York Knicks as part of a three-team trade on February 18, 2010, and did not appear in any contests with Sacramento.

The Kings roster now stands at 14.

Amick is tweeting that Hughes was bought out not simply waived. He does not know how much $ Hughes may gave up as of now.

Why would he agree to get bought out? He has a broken wrist, right? Nobody can/will probably sign him for a PO run, will they? Why give up the $$$ on his end?

Don't get me wrong, if the Maloofs can save some scratch I am happy for this kind of deal, but what was in it for Hughes????

Like a meaningless trivia question, as one of the most obscure Kings ever and in this case he didn't even get a cup of coffee in Sactown. Joins other maybe even more obscure Sac Kings like Lloyd "Swee 'Pea" Daniels, Justic Thigpen, etc.

He's got a broken finger, and was only expected to be out a few weeks. There's talk of a few teams looking to pick him up for a playoff push out there. I would think he wanted to be bought out so he can get out on the waivers and get a shot at something...

Don't forget Sam Cassell. And Drew Gooden, who is #3 all-time on the Kings' in per-game rebounding!

He's done a lot more for us than Spencer Hawes this past week. Thanks for the capspace Larry!

We hardly knew ya. :(
