[Game] Kings vs. Wizards (Vegas Summer League) Tuesday, August 10, 7PM PT (10PM ET) NBATV

Poor DJ Steward apparently stunk so badly that he went from second string to not playing at all in the span of two games.

Mitchell is going to be more to the Kings than just his defensive ability. We have all worked alongside people who work extra hard and we work ourselves up to his/her level. If having someone such as Davion Mitchell on your team is not enough to motivate you to play harder, then we have a much bigger problem as a unit... I think we will all be pleasantly surprised by this year's Kings.

Here's hoping...

Imagine being 6'8 with a 7'2 wingspan and getting picked on as the "runt" of the family. lol

Yea, right?!? My undergrad academic counselor was a former UCLA lineman. Dude was 6'6 and pushing 400 lbs when I knew him. Samoan. He was the runt in his family. Lolzzz.

I want to know who the cable guy was at Ms. Antetokonmpou's home some 27 years ago. He doesn't look like his brothers as much as the three others do. Did Wilt visit Greece during his later years by any chance?

lol I was thinking the same thing! There’s a resemblance but the other three are triplets!

Is Bobby Jackson > Luke Walton?

I'm not really a proponent of the small market strategy of juicing fan excitement by bringing back former players to occupy important positions on the bench and in the front office. But apart from the occasional glimmer of hope, Luke Walton has mostly been a big fat minus as head coach. Considering the Kings' best three young talents are all guards and that defense has been the team's most obvious weakness for over a decade, it could be an interesting experiment to promote Doug Christie mid-season after Walton inevitably struggles to stay within a few games of .500. And I wouldn't be opposed to adding Bobby Jackson to a hypothetical Christie-led coaching staff. If it works out, great. If not, I'd love it if the King's poached Kenny Atkinson from the Clippers' bench.

Getting back to the game. This team gets after it and is fun to watch. Kudos to Bobby J for coaching and Monte for his ability to find guys. It’s just summer league but Metu and King give some hope.

Big time. Both look like they have a modern game and Greg Anthony giving Metu the Christian Wood comp just seems spot on. Really good athleticism/fluid athlete. Great length. Comfortable spacing the floor. Has an on-ball scoring game. Provides weakside rim protection. Looks ideal as a "big 4" where he'll be able to hopefully punish small-ball 4's and not get burned on defense.

I don't want to even go down the path of a King comp because if you just break down what he's shown in summer league: Great physical profile of wingspan/athleticism, very fluid athlete, has played strong wing defense while being active in passing lanes, can space off the bounce or C&S, has shown on-ball creation scoring ability to shoot over people or get to the rim. That's like a star-level projection and tools lol. so I'm trying to stay somewhat reserved on his upside. But I'm excited about the 2-way tools he's showing and I think there's starter potential for him.

Basically, I'm already tilted at the Harkless/TT back-up minutes when both of these guys are more than capable of being 15+ MPG players from the jump.

I haven’t been able to watch any of the SL games real time but catch some pretty extensive clips afterwards.
Really exciting to see how Davion hounds his assignment, and how that rubs off on teammates. He’s going to frustrate many a player, just hope no one throws a ball at him. I’m also curious how Ramsey will get minutes with this loaded backcourt, because he’s looking like he’ll deserve some.
Lot’s of praise to go around, but enjoying Metu and Neemias lots. Almost to the point that I don’t really care what if anything we get for Bagley, and I wish him well enough.

I think going from Walton to Christie is a plus on the personality part. DC sounds like a leader and his energy could be contagious. Surround him with vet help. And I’m not opposed to Jackson being part of the staff. Like, I don’t think those 2 guys would accept less than honest effort on the defensive side.
