I didn't mean any disresepct. I think I'd enjoy Portland despite not being a drinker or patron of adult entertainment. I like food, and bridges, and coffee, and naked women.

I've developed some pretty hardcore wanderlust since 2020. Maybe even a few years earlier. I'm probably out when my son graduates from high school assuming he leaves for college. But it's been a hell of a run. Incidentally I've now lived here longer than I lived in Sac even if we include the year I spent in New Hampshire for my first year of high school. Sometimes I feel like it might be time to come home, but then I see the summer time temps.

crippling meth/opioid/homeless problem
Nike and Adidas HQs (Intel too in case we got any geeks on the squad)

and just like Sac we're 90 mins from the coast or the mountains best of all worlds!

I bought the hat in NYC in 2001 when I was working at JFK airport on a computer upgrade. Watched the Lakers playoff game at the Times Square ESPN bar afterwards iirc. Folks may know I'm more the leather jacket than the sports gear kind of guy, so this is one of the few pieces of official gear I bought and always said that I'd get a new hat when we win again. So I can't think of a better time to unretire it.

Kiddo got me the socks for Christmas. I'm meeting another member tonight, but we'll be going together on Friday.

My mom gave me the pin, I believe it was handed out on opening night of Season 2. But it could have been 1, as I have other pins specifically for Season 2's opener.

It's been pointed out if we win the next 3, we clinch the Pacific at HOME on Sunday. So all in all this works out pretty well vs. Clinchmas on Monday. A party on Sunday will be much better if it goes down.

That's like only 6-8 weeks of the 52 week year. The rest of the year kicks major @$$ on Pacific North-West IMO.

Even then, you can easily head to Tahoe or SF during those 6-8 weeks for reprieve or elsewhere around the World for vacation.

I just happen to loathe extreme cold, snow, and consistent dreary weather a lot more than extreme, DRY heat that typically cools down dramatically at night.

Though this SAC winter sure has me feeling as if I'm actually in the Pacific North-West with all the cloud cover and rain....

I have that pin. I also have a complete collection of opening night pins going back to Season 1... all also on a hat very similar to yours. It's unfortunatly packed away in storage at the moment else I would send a pic.

I found a place up hear that makes burritos that are pretty close. Real happy about that. Unfortunatly the downtown sac one closed a few years ago. It was the best IMO. They made a few things a little different than the other spots, I think.

which one was that? 29th was my regular spot growing up, and when I'm visiting my mom these days I usually hit the Arden one. I do think the East Sac location is better just not as convenient.

The parmesan crusting is pretty special. I like the flavor combo of their taco sauce and the ground beef, too.

Not sure I'd "pilgrimage" for In-n-Out either, but I'd probably miss it more than Jimboy's. What I would really, desperately miss if I lived somewhere that didn't have one would be an independent taqueria.

ok but we are the Rose City, Bridgetown and Stumptown. And Soccer City, USA. And definitely the most famous airport carpet even if it was retired like almost a decade ago.

The coffee, beer and food scenes were huge drivers of tourism here pre-pandemmy. Yes, they really are (were?) that good that they had a national footprint within each niche.
