I'm more concerned about shooting than defense going forward and starting Holiday and Harkless just isn't it. I really don't give a crap about how many losses pile up this season because the Kings had already buried themselves pre-deadline and we're still rocking an interim coach, but next year is REALLY GD important.

Ideally, Holiday are Harkless are back-up 3 and 4 and DDV regains his shot a bit enough to spot-start for a year while we develop someone like a Mathurin. Or we just luck into Jabari Smith and all our problems are gone.

Also I'm not sure there's a place for Lamb on this team to get such big minutes. Do we really need another shoot-first slasher? TD is still here btw.

Davion was terrible tonight. It seems like he has trouble playing off of Sabonis. Just way too much dribbling and one on one play from him when he should be running the offense through domas.

Nuggets announcers after the challenge “You know when you’re a bad team like Sacramento you just don’t get many calls hahahahahaha”
And as the Nugget announcers sit on their butts laughing att the Kings cause they know damn well we got screwed and the nuggets won because the refs went their way….refs were definitely on one side tonight strictly for the Nuggets what a way to win the game….SMFH

I mean that's kinda who he is and the thing that he doesn't do.

Davion and Sabonis have shown a good connection when running pick and roll though. More of that and more success follows. They ran a lot of pick and roll with Fox/Domas late and you saw only late what you should have seen a steady diet of in both games. Sabonis is a great pick and roll big.

Haven't gone through the comments, so apologies if I am reiterating the point someone has already made. Also, haven't done any research to see the splits, but from what I recall from some recent games, Davion was shooting really well as a starter. Coming off the bench, his numbers dip dramatically. As with many rookies, his numbers vary very dramatically, so it might just be that, but thought he was stroking it as a starter, but can't find much rhythm off the bench.

If so indeed, I hope he can fix it, since I think he is more likely to come off the bench for us.

DV has been Bagley levels bad so far. Sabonis is great because he competes for 48minutes and always contributes with at worst positive energy and helping others look better through passing and screening.

Yeah, I think the best way to use these final 20 games is to see who really is apart of the 3 year plan here with Fox/Barnes/Sabonis. What role guys actually compliment them and get a head start on building court time for when wins/losses actually start mattering next season.

Holiday and Harkless are more than fine as bench rotation guys, but we're seeing how limited they are when you expect a consistent starting role. I'm still convinced that DDV is the guy when he's back fully healthy; I'll gamble on him returning to being the glue guy/4th best player on a title team form; especially when those sort of 2-way role players are really uncommon. TD was playing awesome basketball in his last 16 games after a truly dreadful start to the season:

21 MPG
14.3 PPG
3.9 RPG
1.9 APG
40% from 3 on 5.2 attempts
61.8% TS

And some advanced metrics surprising like him quite a bit too, which is a miracle with how bad his start to the year was:

LEBRON: +1.2
RAPTOR: +1.8
LA RAPM: +1.5
BPM: -0.8
VORP: 0.2
WS/48: .052

So maybe he's your "microwave" that you slot in with Mitchell/DDV/Holiday for your guard/wing rotation next year.

Lamb is an interesting call too because you're right; he's more of a secondary playmaker/slasher that isn't necessarily a good C&S guy. I do think the offense has been significantly better with him on the floor with Harkless, but it likely improves even more with an elite shooter in that slot as well.

Another reason why we need to draft or trade for a third blue chip player. We always playing against the refs
The only way to get on the refs' good side in this exclusive league is by playing better, which means more eyeballs gonna be on us and thus getting better calls.

They are showing us these 2-minute reports like it makes it transparent but it doesn't do a Gawd-dang thing, maybe some refs will get a letter, some individual sit-downs in the post-season? We never know any specific reprimands (if any) were handed out. Plus reprimands don't affect W/L record, who cares if the ref responsible is reprimanded if the team was already been judged dead?

The older I get, the more I hate these exclusive gentlemen's clubs that are called sports. The older I get, the harder I can distinguish the refs in sports from the Russian judge in the Olympics. Maybe I am too old for this.

yah that’s why we need another blue chip player, so we don’t have to be in as many close games like during the Golden Era so the refs don’t screw us AS MUCH

I'd love to know what the context is for this post, lol. Another strong showing by Barnes I take it?
Pretty sure it was on that play where Jokic switched onto him and Barnes nailed an iso fadeaway over his outstretched arms in the 4th quarter.

Welcome to the real world.

Blame it on the refs.
Blame i ton the coach.
Blame it on the FO.
Play a different tape.

Well considering the NBA itself has determined that the refs made the wrong call on the play that gave Denver the win, the blame is probably justified in this case. One loss isn't going to be the difference between us making or missing the playoffs (probably) but I don't think it's unreasonable for fans to want some kind of accountability other than "we screwed up and you lost, oops".
