I don't really think so, but my fandom is very close to slipping back into apathy if we don't rattle off some wins soon!

Come on Kings, wow me tonight!
My threshold would probably be if the Kings are about 5 games under .500. Feels like it'd be very hard to make the play in being in such a hole.

Nervous for Domas and his hand. It's not like he can try to avoid contact, dude is a magnet for rough fouls. I'm also nervous the Kings couldn't win a game right now without him. Let's go Domas!!!

Hope he doesn't have to play 40+ minutes tonight for us to win.

NBA coaches almost always err on the side of team success, to the detriment of player health. It's tough for an injured player because the physicians and trainers work for the team, not for the individual.

Is this really the right move, long-term, for the Kings?

Imo the coach would not be at the top of that decision hierarchy. Since Domas is such a competitor I am sure he wants to play but upper team management and his agent are probably the ones driving this decision.

Domas is very hard to convince to miss games.

Looking forward to another stellar performance in the box score. Don’t really have any interest watching a meh product on league pass (sunk cost) or going to games, even when they’re free (turned down a few great seats recently n will continue to do so until Monte is gone). This team is following the same arc as that Joeger team where the league adjusts n then abuses the them once they’ve adjusted. And:

Dude doesn’t have the desire to watch on league pass and supposedly turns down free tickets, but has the time/energy/desire to post here. But only after losses. Clown show. And anyone who takes this guy seriously is a bigger clown show…

So how do they adjust for "luck?"

Similar to like FIP or xFIP or wOBA in baseball. You look to take the randomness out of the game and basically just account what their stats "should" be if all things equal. So like if someone hits a 100 MPH seed, but it's right at an outfielder for an out. Vs a weak dribbler off the bat that finds a hole in the defense for a hit. One counts for a hit, but obviously we expect the guy who hit the 100 MPH exit velo to be a better AB over the long-term.

So in basketball, I imagine things like an opponents FG%/3pt% when heavily contested, how well we shoot when wide open vs heavily contested. I imagine there's some ref things played in too like FTA in crunch time, etc.

He may just need a break from the team. All that losing through 16 years may have gotten to him in an unhealthy way. It's understandable.
