It makes him predictable if he is not special. By all reports , he is special.
I did not disagree with the predictability part

The defensive hustle is noticable. Hands up, deflections. Nice to see.
we should allow Ben the same to develop a driving game (even if it may never be to the level of a Tyreke or Wade)
Yeah possibly...I know there are no handle issues and athleticism issues as with Jimmer being forced to play PG.I'm not so sure about that. (I think IT might very well get traded, if so, Ray will be #2. And he looks ready to do that. Summer League, I know.)
Perhaps waiting more than the 1st quarter of his first ever summer league game to declare him special or not special would be more appropriate. I know you are upset Tyreke is no longer with us and possibly view Bmac as his replacement, but you defended Tyreke in every which way possible, so I will do the same for a rookie in his first ever pro minutes. Patience, my friend.
Don't think we should worry about his FG%. I know personally as a shooter, after not playing a real game for a while, my stroke could be off. but then again, I just tuned in halfway through the second quarter, so i don't know what kind of shots he has been taking.
Having watched him play at Kansas, I'd say that most of them have been forced, not at all the kind of shots he took at Kansas.Don't think we should worry about his FG%. I didn't declare him special or nto now did I? Well, actually I did this much: he does not have a special skillset. Those sorts fo things are not as complex as people make them out. You can see it in the way he moves and pays the game. he's got a nice polished sophisticated and very standard SG skillset. Reke was something special. you just don't see that. This kid? Standard SG game. But saying that isn't judging just how good he is at it. in his case, it will be that shot. If he knocks them down, he'll be good. If he doesn't, he won't. And that we won't really know until the regular season. All you can really judge in summer is skillsets.
Ben is trying to force it all by himself. If he's gonna shoot a lot, at least do what you do best and comes off screens. I hate forced shots
Steve and Reggie don't seem to realize that Landry already played with Cousins either. The shots that McLemore is taking for the most part here are not his game. The disorganized nature of this kind of game is good for ballhandlers and shotblockers, I don't know if we'll really see Ben in the best light here.
I actually don't mind it that much, it's summer league. I'm almost sure coach Malone had encouraged Ben to try to look for his own shots more.
