Kings vs Hawks - Summer League Game 5

Hey look kingwin, there goes Ray ignoring McLemore again.

edit: Oh darn, it was locket not Ray. So sad :(
ediedit: It was Ray, that's what i get for double checking the box score.

Mclemore's shot is looking good. Just started watching the game a few minutes ago. This is the first chance I have had to watch summer league.

Do you really think workouts mean that much? Do you really think PDA wouldn't take McLemore if he didn't have an idea of what he can do?

he was projected to go number 2 and then rumors of him dropping after workouts...maybe we would have seen what other teams saw...same way that trob dropped after workouts..

It wasn't looking good earlier, but he seems to have hit a hot streak.

Summer score keepers need some practice, gave that assist to Lockett.
McLemore Layup Shot: Made (13 PTS) Assist: Lockett (5 AST)

I think he dropped because his agent was playing games and was a certifiable dick of the smallest variety.

You watching this 3rd quarter?

I think the disconnect is that some people have no idea how to evaluate players during summer league. Don't know what they should be looking for, or at, and come to premature conclusions. Much in the same way as some around here have problems evaluating players who are on bottom dwelling teams. In no way am I saying Ray or Ben are going to be amazing because of one quarter/game/half but you should be able to see where their potential lies after watching these games.

I'm not a fan of the way McLemore just hovers around the 3 point line looking for a pass. He should look to free himself on the baseline for some better looks.

He's done that from the start but nobody on the sl squad sees him on cuts or shifts.

I am not horribly down on McLemore but two good quarters in 5 games isn't time to start a party either. It's the whole picture of the Kings that looks grim. I think I see a shot blocker on the Hawks I'd like.
