[Game] Kings v. Raptors, 2/5/14, 7 PM PST, 10 PM EST

That's opinion, not fact.

I don't have much of a problem with it with how bad the refs in this league currently are.

I don't feel like this game was destroyed. Do you? Only game I felt was truly destroyed was WCF, game 6, 2002. And that was due to refs, not whining.

You've never seen players jog up the court complaining to refs instead of getting back on defense. I would say that affects the quality of the game.

Silencing players will never work. Not unless you're going to silence the stars, guys like Lebron, Durant, Melo, CP3, which didn't happen two years ago and won't happen two years from now.

Sorry, I don't want our guys getting T'd up while a guy like CP3 gets away with yelling numerous F-bombs directed at the refs. It wouldn't be even handed. It's something which sounds nice in your living room but has little chance of being implemented fairly in reality.

It works if there's mandated restrain. Enough B.S. complaining on every NBA call - that's what we're talking about. You don't have such constant complaining in NFL - because it's simply not allowed. Of course, the players have helmets on and are not allowed to take them off on field of play. But the bottom line is, NFL polices outbursts, especially of the endless variety by being very stern about it. The head coach on sideline is allowed to complain as much as he wants if refs care to listen to the rants.

The ****?

How many NBA games have we played? I guess we're not allowed to talk about those, either?
I don't mean NBA games I mean basketball games in general.

To be clear I think that the refs make mistakes and I hate the superstar treatment but they don't make nearly as many mistakes as the average fan thinks they do. That and games are really hard to ref, things look totally different depending on the angle you have.

Of course I have. That's a team issue. That's on coaches and players. If I have the ball and the guy guarding be is complaining to the ref, I'm blowing by him. He'll learn the hard way. Just like when Boston was playing Miami two years ago and Rondo said Boston was taking advantage of the Heat being crybabies. It effects your own team if you're the ones complaining. It doesn't effect the other. It gives an advantage.

When Cuz whines and doesn't get back on defense, that's a Cuz issue, a Malone issue and a Kings issue. The other team should take advantage. Likewise if DeAndre Jordan is busy whining, we should take advantage.

I don't look at JT whining being a ref issue for example, that needs fixing. It's an issue of JT whining too much and either he or Malone will need to handle it, if it were to be handled. Has zero impact on my viewing experience though.

I think we should all stop whning, this is exciting stuff, defense!!!!!!

EDIT: that came off more holier then thou then I would have liked, I just got really excited when I saw the upcoming schedule at the end of the broadcast there, I'm taking my wife and my boys to the next home game!

NFL players yell at refs all the time. They have 35 secs to do so between plays. You just can't hear it as it's not on a basketball court in an arena.

I don't think it matters what level of basketball you meant. If you're trying to make the argument that we can't criticize something we haven't done personally, we might as well turn the internet off, right now.

Last person out, hit the lights, would you?

11-11 with everybody healthy and playing the full game right?
yep. plus factor in the time it takes for these guys to get acclimated to each other after a big trade like that and i think its safe to assume that we would be over .500 if we had started training camp with this roster

Coach Malone benching DWill tonight for his little embarrassing faux pas was probably warranted. The day he benches IT for one of his "hero" faux pas is the day I will say Malone has finally really gotten "it."

I don't remember telling anyone they couldn't criticize. Heck, I criticized the officials in this very thread. I just think that saying how bad they are is kind of unfair to them. Their job is impossible and even if they get it right (they do most of the time) they are still booed and yelled at all game long.

When refs do their jobs right, you don't notice they're there.

Hey speak for yourself.

I've done it all. :p

That isn't true. It just isn't. They make good calls or good no calls that get hammered all the time. Hell, half the time Cousins complains there just wasn't a foul. Fans and players are incapable of being objective, especially on those close calls.

I know but it does not effect the game and it's when play is stopped not like in NBA with often freaking fast break headed other way.

:: sighs ::

We could go 'round and 'round all night about this, with me saying "nuh uh," and you replying "yeah huh!" How's about, for a change of pace, we just say we did, and get on with our evenings?

Yelling at officials is like buying popcorn. And face it - after 2002, I think Kings fans have earned a little leeway in complaining about officiating. :)

I'm sure player's complaining affects refs to an extent. How would you feel if you had someone shouting in your face while you tried to do your job?

I don't know. I just prefer to watch players actually play instead of complaining to refs, but that's just me.
