[Game] Kings v. Bucks - 3/10/13

Aldrch and P-Pat would be a great frontcourt coming off the bench. Loved how Reke was creating for him right away. If only he played more min in the 2nd then we could of won easily without the late game heroics. But other than that, I'm glad the group that finished the game fought hard

I think you are right. People have commented over and over about not subbing during a time out. I don't think he ever does. At least it will give me a reason to watch the games. :)
Glad I am not the only one who has noticed and mocked this incessantly. It is truly bizarre.
You guys just aren't smart. He spends a few minutes creating a play for Salmons out of timeout. He doesn't have time to think about substitutions. Be Smart!

We sent a message back into the homes of Milwaukee to see.

A few random observations:

1. Our guy's name is Aldrich. Aldridge is on the Trailblazers.

2a. Tyreke Evans is not the villain.
2b. Isaiah Thomas is not the villain.
If the true villain didn't play some kind of mental eeney-meeney-miney-moe to determine his rotations, we wouldn't have about 80% of the arguments we have over Evans and Thomas. Smart - and I use the term loosely - effectively iced Evans when he was having a very, very, very good consistent game and didn't put him back in until the damage was done.

3. John Salmons looked like a fish out of water. You know what you're going to get with Salmons within a few minutes. But, once again the EEMM decreed that he stay on the floor, helping about as much as a one-legged man in an arse kicking contest.

4. DMC was set up, both by Dunleavy (whose motives I've always questioned as he's banked for years on his angelic face) and by Smart, who could have kept Demarcus out for a couple of minutes to let him calm down.

5. There is no longer any way to defend Keith Smart. He's now officially earned the title of most inept coach in the history of our franchise, and considering some of the bozos of the past, that's saying something.

6. Watching this game was painful, primarily because the team pretty much did everything they could IN SPITE OF HORRIFIC COACHING DECISIONS to get back into it and win. I can only imagine what it would be like to see them play with even just a mediocre coach on the sidelines. I'm not asking for Adelman or Sloan or Jackson. I'd settle for Nate or Stiles or even Byron Thomas.

Are you for real? You are seriously going to sit here and say that DMC was set up? First of all, what exactly did Dunleavy do? Their first exchange looked like they just got tangled up and fell down. After the double techs, DMC blindly elbows the guy in the side of the head which is an EXTREMELY dangerous thing to do. Totally unacceptable on so many levels.

You then blame Smart for not sitting him out. I agree with you that he should have considered doing that but to let DMC off the hook because Smart didn't take him out is absolutely ridiculous. That's like saying somebody should be acquitted for murder because the police should have arrested them before they committed the crime.

Just one time, please, can you hold DeMarcus accountable? This is a pretty serious thing he did. It's not the same as getting into it with Smart during a timeout or yelling at Brooks for not passing the ball. He blindly cold cocked a guy in the head. This guy has got serious mental issues. I want him gone. I don't care that he puts up good numbers. Nobody on the team likes him. He's a cancer that will always linger as long as he's on this roster. Coaches don't want to coach him and his teammates don't want to play with him.

After the sale of the team, he needs to be traded this summer. We will never get the same amount of talent in return but it doesn't matter. We will cleanse ourselves of this disease and that starts with getting some good character guys on the team to go along with the other good guys -- JT, IT, PP, Hayes, etc. It may set us back a year or two but it has to be done. DMC will ruin this fan base (if we stay in Sac). At some point, enough is enough for the average fan and they will stop supporting the team if we keep a thug like him on the roster.

I lost the heart to watch this game after Smart put Outlaw, Jimmer and Chuck in at the same time. No offense at center, no defense at PG, and neither at the wing.

I do find the scrambling to find absolutely any excuse to get DMC off the hook a bit tiresome now.

I love the guy, but god, it's time to look in the mirror... for once.

either that or we employ a full time "cuz coach" who can immediately sound a claxon any time it looks like he's got a mood coming on. Please this is the NBA.

I get what your saying and Cuz is his own worst enemy, but usually when players get heated and to a point where they're looking for a fight, the coach usually pulls them out and sits them until they cool down. I'm not excusing Cuz for what he did and it's his fault for getting worked up, but the coach should of sat him down and told him to man up and cool the hell out. If Smart really was trying to get him out, but didn't know he could sub players out, that makes me even angrier cause he should know that.

Fixed to reflect accuracy.

So we have the local whining population complainng about DMC here too?

I'm sorry, it IS persoinal. You people need to suck it up in the worst way.

And actually if DeMarcus chases away a certain class of fan, now THAT will be a useful cleansing.

Yes, because it makes no sense to see how a then 23 yr old might react to new ownership, a real coach and structure for the first time since entering the league.

I don't remember Minn fans demanding KG be traded when he was taking cheap shots at one Euro after another and clocked a Minn draft pick square in the face during a summer pickup game. Or LAL fans demanding Kobe be traded when he was labelled as uncoachable, terrible teammate and getting into fist fights on the court with Childs and Miller. Don't remember fans demanding Barkley get traded when he was throwing people threw glass windows and nightclubs, throwing cheap shots for the Dream Team or throwing a ball right at Shaq's face.

Point being, there's a long list of players who had maturity issues and grew out of them. At the least you wait to see how Cuz reacts to a franchise reboot. After seeing JWill grow up, I'd think Kings fans would have learned that players mature, just as we all do in real life.

Some would even argue that a bunch of the guys you mentioned are still just as feisty/ aggressive or would be if they were still playing. The difference is that they first they ensured they didn't have a target on their back by becoming some of the best players in the league. Secondly, they learnt to let their emotions make them even better and competitive on the court, as opposed to taking them out of the game, and that includes both not getting frustrated and not getting thrown out when it mattered.

It's worth noting though that these things are very related. You stop whining and throwing tantrums and the refs won't keep targeting you. The refs start giving calls in your favour and you stop whining and doing dumb things out of frustration.
