I feel like he's naturally a bit passive, but also self aware and smart. He knows it's a weakness.

He'll never be a consciousless gunner, but I think in time he'll be a more cerebral assassin, taking over when needed, which IMHO, is even better than "Mamba mentality".

This + improved shooting will be the keys to his next big leap.

OK, what teams are figuring out is that the Kings aren't totally trying to set up spot shooters. Now, they signed a bunch of them this summer, but they apparently forgot about that. The Suns in the last game and the Blazers in this one both figured out if you run out at the shooter they'll put the ball down. There is way too much body movement from players that should be spotting up. This isn't hard to figure out.
