Damn....Rudy.

Well, I'm liking Thompson's hussle. His shots arnt falling, but I can see the potential.

Greene though...sigh...4 of his 5 shots have been from beyond 3. And he's made...1 of them. Chucker.

This is Oct. 7. It is Donte Greene's first game. I really think you're putting the cart miles ahead of the horse.

This is a YOUNG TEAM. We aren't going to look polished in pre-season. And we most likely aren't going to win a lot of games during the year. It's called rebuilding ... and it's not for the faint of heart.

Not when he was such a chucker in college. I'm not calling him a chucker based on this game...I'm calling him a chucker because he's continuing his bad habits.

Its not like I'm writing him off though, just calling him out haha. That was a nice block he had. And his hair is cool. :p

And cool the condescention...I know we're rebuilding. And I'm fine with that. Doesnt mean I'm not going to wince as I witness the growing pains.

This team is supposed to play with lot's of effort and energy and the result should be a high draft pick. We are not going to win - much. I You can't deal with that - skip this season.

It is a right thing to do - just 3 years too late

everyone is going 2 be fine its just preseason let the rookies settle in and get the feel of the game before we go all out and judge them.

On a side note Greg Oden really does look years beyond his age.

Oden looks great, but I want to see how he does against players of a similar stature and playing style before I jump on the bandwagon. We don't necessarily have bangers in the post.

Sheldon really cant jump...

weighed down by his forehead?

EDIT: I shouldnt be so hard on the ONLY banger we have.

Spencer is continuing is his great play from the summer league games

This is what happens to the offense when it's all from the outside in. I thought Spencer could be the player they could post on the block and make things happen, but not when he's shooting from outside all the time. This team needs a back-to-the-basket presence down low.

I know this is just pre-season, but losing by 30+ points, I stopped watching after the 3rd quarter. This was not a fun game to watch even if it was pre-season.

Man, I would love to have Rudy Fernandez.

Sad, we did pretty damn good in the first half, then i the kings curse took over, the only upside i can think of is our 2 highest rated players were not playing.

i cant watch the game, i live in los angeles so im watching the laker game..... do the kings suck or are the blazers that good? granted martin and miller arent playing but damn.... salmons and hawes are sucking....

Well, after all it's just a pre-season game and the first one at that. The Kings won the first quarter and played overall very well in the first half. Thompson and Greene showed why they may play a lot of minutes earlier in the season than perhaps was originally anticipated. Heck, at this point Thompson or Williams at center might be as good or better than Hawes or Miller.

In the second half tonight, the Blazers simply showed how good and frighteningly deep they are. Rudy Fernandes looks almost like a young Magic Johnson, only the Spaniard can play above the rim with the best as well as do a lot of magic tricks off the dribble and passing. In short, Blazers are better than the Kings right now and look like they could be one of the top 5-6 teams in the NBA in 2008-09.

I don't mind the blowout since we were watching the right people play. I was somewhat encouraged with the offense early on, but it fell apart under tougher Blazer defense in the second half.

It's clear that there isn't an offensive system in place right now. Spencer is not ready to be the anchor for the offense yet. Having Brad and Kevin will probably help, but still it's going to be a rough year. But that's the way it has to be.

man I haven't been watching the game and I just saw the score. My first reaction was so what! Some of you take games too seriously especially today when it's the first preseason game for a young team. Get a grip of yourselves. The wizards lost by 36 to the mavs. Guess their seasons over too?

And that's your problem there, sorry but preseason or not it was U-G-L-Y! But for the most part I do agree.

Theres to much negativitey in here. Guys remember.....we didn't have K-Mart our BEST player and Miller...Arguabely our second best player. We showed what we can really do in the first half..the second half Reggie switched things up alot. When K-mart and Miller are back and Reggie gets more sure on his rotations we'll see alot of improvement. For the Blazers, on the other hand, they didn't need much switching up of the rotations. They are basically the same team of young guys as they were last year with a few good additions. They already have a good idea of what they are gonna do this season. We just gotta find ourselves, no worries yet.

why did kevin and brad didn't play? i was exited getting to see my favorite player martin to play on the court.

Losing is ok. It can be frustrating, but we are not a good team right now, and losing in the short term might bring more benefit long term. The good part was that kids got to see some action. The bad and ugly parts unfortunately were the same old weaknesses. We got killed on the glass (again), and had an ugly A/T ratio.

I know this is the first game of the preseason and all that, but these are the numbers I would be concerned about going into the season, instead of the point differential.

The first half was OK but the team didn't play anything like they should or are supposed to be. Sure, it may come in time but the team relied on 1 on 1 and getting to the free throw line in the first half. We only had like 8 assists by half time and 10 for the game!

It will be a bumpy ride but hopefully in time they get it.

Both have quad issues. Nothing serious, but why play them?

Seemed like Reggie threw an awful lot of different combinations out there. That may account for some of the confusion there seemed to be going on out there.

Too bad we played some of the vets.

Other than that, I was fine with this game. Every player got practice, and a chance to show whatever talent they have... or don't. And that's what the preseason's for. In the Kings' case, it might be what the regular season's about, too.
