Only 2 people in this game who have impressed me are Greene and Kenny. Everyone else has been awful, including the refs. Guess we see how valuable Kevin and Ron really are:o

We really need to get some athletic big men who can defend the rim btw...

We should hold onto Watkins. He had flashes of good defensive play, and isn't totally lost on offense either.

I think Watkins is assured a spot on the roster as long as so many of Kings big men are side lined with with injuries, suspension, on-leave - Rahim, Hawes, Artest, JWill. Once some of them return he may get cut unless he produces to deserve his spot. I think Shakur gets cut next to make Watkins chances to stick even better.

I don't see any reason to cut anyone at this point. The candidates for being cut are all dirt cheap, and Shakur is the only one likely to get no PT. But right now, Greene is playing for a contract, and even with very little offensive game, he's almost looking too good to be true. He could easily be signed, then lose his hunger, because what are we going to do if he lapses into mediocrity? We'd play him anyway, because we wouldn't have any choice.

I didn't expect much of Greene, but it seems that he's not bad at all when he's extremely motivated. I think we need to keep some fire under his butt. I want an inexpensive PG who is dying for PT waiting in the wings, even if we only see him during garbage time. Shakur will do nicely.

1. Uh. How can I look at Moore all year. Can we just cut the guy without loosing any money. 2. KT's had some nice passes in the last game, I hope he keeps it up (along with the rebounding). 3. Lay-ups vs. Dunking has been a problem for several years. We miss these easy lay-ups - why don't we just dunk some of those wide open shots? (even though I've read that dunking is harder on the knees/legs). 4. I really hope our passing improves a lot this year. 5. I hope Garcia becomes the player that I know he can become.

I missed Friday's game. I know they are not playing Artest too much in trying to get ready for his suspension and give other's his playing time.

Kevin was out with a bruised shin? Is he expected to just miss the one game? Has anyone heard anything on him?

You would have to imagine. Its preseason -- guys sit out with hangnails. Not really that important to play anyway given its preseason, but a bruise isn't something you are likely to make worse by playing on it (unless you get hit inthe same spot of course). Unless it was really swollen you would suspect he would have played Friday if it had been the regular season.

Edit: Found this at the Bee's site:

"Martin's injury was not believed to be serious, and his absence from the finale of the three-game trip was more precautionary than anything, an assessment confirmed by X-rays earlier in the day that showed the pain in the lower leg to be a bruise. Had it been the regular season, he might have played."

I am glad Artest is suspended for the first 7 games. I feel his knee is bruised pretty bad and would only hinder him for a while.

Thank you, Mr. Brickie. :D

I used to bruise my shins all the time playing tennis -- had a tendency to really snap the followthrough on my serve and would crack the racket into my plant leg down below the knee. Quite excruciating really, and have dents in my leg down there to this day. But if you iced it it wasn't really debilitating. Until you cracked the followthrough on the next serve into the same spot of course. THAT sucked.
