If the Kings aren't taking back salary this is a great deal IMO. An extra $5 million in caproom ($32 million total) and the #22 is more than I expected for Marco.

Not sure how you can complain about the move. Cut cap room, a terrible defender, and add another first round pick to solidify the bench. What's there not to like?

This means the Kings are in the market for a SG but I think they were anyways (not a McLemore fan)

Players that could be available at 22 are Brice Johnson, Dejounte Murray, Furkan Korkmaz, DeAndre Bembry, Demetrius Jackaon, and who knows, Maybe even Wade Baldwin, although I doubt it.

I think this is a smart pivot from Vlade. Bellini didn't work out, get what value is there and move on. Also if were serious about improving the defense we need a new group of wing defenders.

I'm on board with this. If the focus is to get more defense on the roster, then I'm for it. Maybe they will draft a guard? Key Felder or Tyler Ulis...both undersized I know but crazy talented.

holy crap. belinelli for #22? after the season marco had, that's one helluva steal. well done, vlade. hopefully the kings can snag a worthwhile contributor at that position...

I reckon it's not a bad trade, but it's Ben Mac that needs to be traded first and foremost. I honestly do not want to see him on the team next season, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

I was kind of looking forward to seeing if Marco can bounce back under a new coach. I don't think #22 is a steal for us, we probably end up drafting a guy who's no better than the player we gave up.

Why would the feeling be mutual?

Well, you still get to find that out, so win-win.

I wouldn't have minded seeing what he'd do under a real coach, but can't knock this move.

Joerger probably hated what he'd bring defensively.

Several articles have said BMac wanted out and the Kings tried to trade him last season but couldn't find an acceptable deal.
.
Honestly, if I was one of the other 29 teams I wouldn't want to accept a deal that brought him to my team either. Nice kid but not worth the bench spot imo. With that said....I would give him 1 year with Coach J and see if he can bring out the player we all thought he could be.

You can dump him now. Rem the cap went up, and he's effectively an ender. Whether he's any good or not is no longer the only driver of his value.

Which came first, I wonder? Did McLemore demand/request/whateveryourpreferredchoiceofwordsis to be traded, and management said they'd try to accommodate him, or did management tell him that they were planning to try and move him, and he just didn't beg to stay, and that's what's being interpreted as him wanting out?"
