It is that time again folks. 82 games season starting on Wednesday and ending for the Kings on April the 13th in LA hopefully with a win. In between we are hoping for good basketball with lot's of heart and effort so that win or lose (more probably) we can remain excited about something. This should be an easy season for the Kings with no expectation or pressure of any kind. Just go out and play hard, play together and beat LA!

Would you believe me if I told you that Kings are opening the season with the 3 straight road game and it is not a Texas triangle ? What do you have to do to have the season opener at home ? Last time that the Kings won the opener was - you guessed it right - first NBA game Lebron "legalized travel" James ever played. We were so good then - even TFM couldn't ruin us. This time we open in OKC and have a decent chance to steel one on the road which won't happen much this season yet again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preseason is over not that it really matters. It was never good to the Kings anyways. This time it was Cisco who "paid." Only good thing that ever happened during the "tease month" is a certain fist which DC put where it belongs. Anything before and after that is full of injuries, suspensions and frustrations. That is why I don't do preseason.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, the ref strike is over. I wasn't aware that they were getting paid anyways at least not "legally." The way they call them - nobody would miss them. I was excited about a Bavetta free season. Now it sucks because we will be watching him decide winners for the next 50-60 years to come.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Another rule change that won't make any difference id the change in steps or whatever they call it. Only difference is that now when refs ignore Lebron's travel - it will be in the rule book. Why not just make an universal rule so that Kobes and Lebrons are freed of any rule constraints. Much easier to follow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have not followed NBA over the summer. This never ending losing is not good for my morale anymore. Since we are not spending any money - I really don't care who got better or worse. However, watching a young Serbian team with no names and a phenomenal coach winning silver medall at EC - has given me some hope that Kings could do something similar only until the finals where it once again became clear that no heart, effort, coaching can beat overwhelming talent.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings have another new coach just like I have another pair of socks. Aren't we still paying Muss and Muss Jr. ? Now, I don't know what Mr. Westphal can do coaching young underdog team that has no Barkleys and Johnsons etc but I am willing to believe that he is more competent than the clowns that were the star attraction in the best circus in town. I am willing to give him a benefit of doubt at least unthil he decides to draw up a 15pt play to win us a game wit 3 sec to go. Welcome coach and good luck to you - you will need it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We didn't take Rubio and there is a good chance that we will regret it on day but that is the water under the bridge. I was happy to see us getting younger with Evans, Caspi and even Brockman, I was down with May too but when we acquired Mason - only thing I had to say was WTF ??? I don't get that move at all other than the fact that Kins might play too many minutes and we can't have that - once again WTF GP?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
KT is still here - as flexible as always. I will boycott every second of Kings basketball he spends in play. My theory on "end of the world" is that after a nuclear holocaust all there will be left are cockroaches and KT with another year left on the deal with Kings. We should hire Mateen as staff member so that KT can improve in towel waving and giving high fives instead on sitting on the end of the bench being upset because the didn't get to play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bobby Jackson couldn't find another club to play for so he retired. My favorite Kings player of all time. He had so much heart, passion and fight in himself that it was very difficult not to admire him. He will always be a King in my book and there will never be another #24 like that. I wish him well and hope that he can carry over his knowledge but mostly his passion to next generations. THANK YOU BOBBY !
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's see what we have here - no PG yet again. Kings haven't had a PG since Webber was traded. I am not even sure how we are going to play without one but we will find out. And no - Mike Bibby wasn't one because only shot he could ever create is the one for the opponent but not guarding him at all. Anyways he "have" Udrih and Rodriguez - sucks big time so instead of hiring one decent PG we will let a rookie play it out of position. I see a foul trouble over and over again. We also lack shooters and low post presence and defense and ever rebounding might be tight. What we have in abundance are the combo tweeners that can play equally bad on different positions. Basically as solid 25 win team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still there are things that are worthy of watching the Kings. We have 3 new players and I assume two of them will be fun to watch. We also have Jason Thompson and I predict his first double double season. Also it will be interesting to see what we will see from Greene and Hawes and May. Finally - a trade deadline and the lottery should be busy time. Get ready for a bumpy rollercoaster ride that could be anything but boring.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Game with OKC Thunder will be a very predictable entertaining high scoring game two teams incapable of defending. It will be close and bi\oth teams will try to give to each other where we should have an edge because there is on chance of a wannabe coach giving the ball to a clutch player of let's say of a Quincy Douby caliber.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have some expectations for individual players this season:
Kevin could try to play on both ends, he could flop little less and he could demand the ball at the end more often
JT will average a double double while not being in foul trouble too much
Hawes will be more durable
Evans will be one of the better rookies this season
Casspi will surprise everyone
Brockman - will play a little
May will be a good bench player.
Donte will not be playing much
----------------------------------------------------
Mason will we a waste of everything
Nocioni will be traded
Beno will become new KT
KT will never become a Mateen
Sergio will do the same thing he did in Portland = nothing significant
Cisco will be Cisco when he is healthy
---------------------------------------------------------------
OKC have a young exciting team that will improve this season beyond the point of being a competition for the highest draft positions. Durant, Westbrook, Green and others will be more respectable and they will win more games. TDM will go to Harden so that we can uphold the tradition. LW-VC will go to Nick Collison. Other awards are most certainly in play. All in all - Kings couls win their seson opener. It is about time.
