[Game] Kings @ Suns - 10/26/16 - 7 PM PDT

Like the effort. Excited to see them tested by SAN Antonio tomorrow night. Lawson is a solid PG. Temple is also solid. Those midrange jumpers were lethal. The defense against penetrating guards was solid. All around good game!

Wow what a difference this team looks like now. I would not mind going 11 deep all season, every lineup we put out there had great energy and overall good spacing and synergy. Very impressed with how our vet FAs came in and played great defense. Everyone moved the ball, got their 8-10 points, then we closed it out with Rudy and Cuz. Such a good win, can't wait for SA.

A great team game and a great start for the season!

Now let's make the first home-game a statement!

BTW:
For those of you who didn't notice, I started a Prediction Game thread
(it was "exiled" to Fantasy, but still attracted some 20 participants... :D)

I invite you to join-in and make your predictions for game 2:

Hi everyone!! An exciting night!!

I want to try and run a prediction game for tonight,
and if it catches - we can go on, and make it a full season game.
It's your (our) decision. :)

I'd like to propose my own scoring rules, that proved very balanced and ...

Join in - I am quite sure it's going to be fun!

Surprisingly, we played like a team that's been together for a while yet we've added several new pieces and it's only been one game.

Thing is, for those who, er, managed to watch them, we actually looked/felt that way from basically the first preseason game. Just rock solid teamwork from the getgo. That's a huge testament to coaching, and also to the sorts of been there done that grizzled know how to play vet roleplayers we scooped up this offseason.

Well, I caved and bought 2 of the remaining tickets for tomorrow night's opener. Ticket prices are pretty crazy, but, hey --- it is the first ever game @G1C. I found a couple face value tickets that peaked my interest last night but I didn't grab them and they were gone late this afternoon. But I just checked again and they were suddenly available so I snagged them.

Can't wait!

See you there! Well only if you go around screaming Mad D! Mad D!

I'll make sure to yell "What?!"

Just FYI - James Harden has put up 34 points, 17 assists and 6 boards and the Rockets have scored 114 points.

Oh, and they are still down 6 points to the Lakers.

Defensive minded teams will always be my preference. So I love the early returns with Joerger at the helm.

That's what Mike D'antoni's teams bring...flashy offensive numbers and all but that's about where the buck stops, so to speak.

nice to see someone on our team have a little toughness and give some hard fouls

Agreed. He could of went up and tried to block the lay up, but he made it known that lay ups won't be acceptable....even if it's for one season, I enjoy seeing this because it may become contagious.

Anyone else yelling at their TV when Barnes was given a flagrant 1? What a load of s***. I hate how soft the NBA is becoming. You can't even wrap up players and keep them on their own 2 feet anymore without being called for a flagrant? Absolute joke.

I even thought Chriss' flagrant was BS as well. I really hope this sensitivity to flagrants doesn't continue as the season progresses...

Barne's flagrant and Chriss' flagrant were nowhere near each other.
Barnes' wasn't close to a flagrant, unless they're going to start calling wrap-up fouls as flagrants all-season long - and you KNOW they won't.
Every wrap-up you see that isn;t a flagrant (and there will probably be a hundred this year) is an indictment of how inconsistent NBA refs are.

Chriss' flagrant was well-warranted : he leaned into Demarcus like a linebacker and delivered a big unprotected hit to his gut/nuts.
If they let Chriss get away with that cheap shot, you may as well call OPEN SEASON on Demarcus to the rest of the NBA.
I predict we will be seeing more of these cheap shots as the season progresses, and we'll pretty soon see whether the NBA is going to protect DMC from the regular abuse he's taken.
Because if they don't, he's going to get injured before 20 games occur, I predict.

It was very positive seeing the refs protect him for this night, at least.

I have absolutely no problem with a player running through a screen hard. Perhaps, I'm more old school than some of you.

Let the boys....scratch that...Let the men play

Indeed, the powder puff league has arrived in full force.

Great game to start the season though it's almost unfair for the Kings to have to turn around and play their home opener on a back-to-back against the Spurs.

A lot was/is being made of the Warriors getting blown out in their first game at home against San Antonio but to me too much is being made of the Dubs "struggles" and not enough credit is being given to the Spurs. Kawhi, LA and Jonathan Simmons had big games and the Spurs looked to be in mid season form on both ends.

Tonight should be a nice barometer of where the Kings are at this point in the new season.

Anyone miss James Anderson on this team lol

Yes, indeedy. A few of these guys know each other and a few have played for Joerger. That helps. I'd have to think back aways, though, to remember the Kings looking like a team. A bunch of decent vets added to a star and a half star is working well so far, Vlade. Maybe Rudy will like where he is and maybe some of us will regain faith in him. We'll see as the year progresses.

Remember when we all had our knickers in a bunch because we had no pgs? Our last two cuts were pgs and we seem to be in good shape. We didn't need a star pg. We needed guys who understood the position and knew who the star was.
