Kings @ Spurs Game Thread (Game 2)

I wasn't expecting to win. Effort was great tonigh anf Bonzi, Kevin and SAR deserve a standing ovation on Friday.

I love Bibby, but this might be the worst game ever I have seen him play as a King :(

I'm still proud of this team. They maybe didn't execute well at the end of the game, but who realistically gave the Kings a chance to win this one without Ron? Can't take a 63-win, multi-championship team into OT on their home court.

What I just don't get is what is wrong with Brad? Bibby did not have a good game, but I could not fault his effort and he did do some good things, but Brad just looks totally out of it.

What if Bonzi made that FT...

We shoulda fouled and not let them take a 3...

Ok, I got that outta my system.
Yep, I have a major problem with not fouling at that point. I'm not a coach, and I don't have the insight that Adelman that does, but, dang it, when you are up 3, and you have a team that is STACKED with 3 point shooters, why, oh why, wouldn't you foul? Can someone PLEASE explain that to me???

amen to that.

alright, i can barely see straight right now but let me say, props to SAR... the guy showed class and proved he belongs in the playoffs. if only the whole team played with the same inspired play maybe things woulda been different, ay?

Yes it is! hes the captain of our team and he was a horrible leader tonight. When through out this whole game did you see him take control of the game?
Im not liking Bibby at all right now, I dont even want to talk about him.

Shareef and Artest are our team captains...
I DISAGREE. Mike was GREAT at leading this team tonight. I am at a loss for what happened in the final seconds of regulation with him. I am also shocked at how he played in overtime. In the end, I can put most of the fault on him for how it ended, but not on his leadership during the game. SAR and ARTEST are NOT the leaders of this team. I REALLY like them both, but Artest was suspended - even f we think that it is unfair. HE put HIMSELF in the position to NOT be there when we needed him. SAR is too inconsistent. He had a great game tonight, but I am NOT ready to declare him the leader.

Well call it a series. They made an attempt tonight, but if they can't do it with the effort they made tonight, it can't be done.I've also realized besides Miller needing to go, Bibby does as well. I know, I know he's the darling and the big scorer. I like parts of him to, but he makes some very bad passes and shot attempts and turnovers at VERY inopportune times. I don't care if it causes us to not make the playoffs for a while, I'd like to see him gone. I thought to myself many times tonight, man I'd really like to have Hart in right now.

We can be proud of the team especially Bonzi, SAR and Kevin.

Mike & Brad - I don't even have words for them
And the worst part (okay one of the worst parts) about tonight is that right now, Bonzi & Reef are probably feeling the weight of this loss on their shoulders. Bonzi missed the free throw & Shareef missed those shots, and you know they are kicking themselves over it. Never mind that we wouldn't even have been in the game if it wasn't for them! God forbid one of our veteran starters should step up....

I am frustrated. Mike at least contributed where he could. He rebounded, he had some assists, but Brad, well, are we sure he made the trip to San Antonio?

I love how after the game on OUR network, they play some !@#$#^ spurs high light video only about the spurs... thanks for the salt in my wounds.

Better than Dick Stockton on TNT

"the kings cam in here and did EXACTLY what they set out to do- gave themselves confidence for the next game in Sacramento."

Exactly Dick- we had no faith in our ability to win- we just came in looking for a moral victory...

I am so proud of SAR, Bonzi and Kevin. You could SEE the desire in SAR's eyes.

Brad looked like he was relaxed cause he wasn't playing and happily settled into cheerleader mode. Bibby just looked frustrated out there when he couldn't get anything going. Went 1/11 and never took a shot again until the final minutes.

Oh well. All in all, I guess I'm still proud of how the guys played. In my mind, San Antonio got lucky with that three. They are a good deep team. We just came up short.

I'm proud of the guys for giving a fight and trying hard.

Maybe we could win 4 in a row.

We win 2 at ARCO, go to AT&T with the momentum and steal game 5 and then wrap it up at arco in game 6.

Well, whatever happens, GO KINGS! i love you guys!

Bibby had a bad game, but I saw him out there directing this team the whole time he was in there. Shouting out directions and plays all over the place, so I'm not sure what you mean. And, altho I'm dosappointed in the game he had tonight, the focus of a lot of the Spurs defense was on Bibby. Heck they had Bowen guarding him for much of the game.

Tonight, I will remind myself that without Bibby our season would have been over last week. He carried the team until Artest got here and even in some games after Artest got here.

He should have called for foul on last spurs possession
It takes a lot to lay the blame for this one on Adelman regardless of what he did on the last possession. Do you realize he had a team that lost by 34, playing a game on the home floor of the defending champs, playing without its leader, that had terrible games from its two best offensive players, and featured essentially a 7 man rotation with Jason Hart being one of those 7.

He took that team, and he almost took them to a win (even after the best player tonight Bonzi, fouled out). He took that team against the champs in San Antonio to overtime.

And you want to blame HIM?!??!

By the way- you only foul up by three when it is the last shot. You do not foul up three when there are 14 seconds left. If you do that you are putting all the pressure back on YOURSELF to go and hit free throws on the other end. So get the facts straight before you come in here tossing rocks...

on a good note, no one is going to count Sacramento out... and you can shut your fat mouth Barkeley, you never won #%$, you big drunk...

another good note I am really proud of Martin, Shareef, Bonzi(minus the missed FT's) Garcia and Heart, you guys play'd like TRUE Kings tonight, played your hearts out, great effort...

Or you leave a Barry wide open in the corner for a three-a much better choice than fouling.

I still think that we win as a TEAM and lose as TEAM. At least i do not think that they were embarrased. WE WERE NOT SUPOSSED TO EVEN HAVE REAL SHOT TONIGHT. We did. We missed it - but the showed up and played. They played aggressively and hard. It hurts that we lost the way we did, but I CANNOT FAULT THE EFFORT OF ANY (except 1). We WILL even the series at Arco. We will play hard. We will have Ron. It still say that the series goes at least 6 games.
