Steph is at 30% usage which is pretty low for a dude scoring 27.4 ppts per game. He is 2nd highest in ppg and 18th in usage. Whereas Fox is more typically balanced in usage 27th and points 30th.
I’m not sure where you’re pulling your stats from but he’s at 32.1% for the year which is actually 10th in usage.
Fox is 22nd in usage at 29.3% and 27th in points per game at 20.2.

CD had a pretty good show this morning.
the kings have got some serious problems, and the coach isn’t the first one. Fox having 2 good games while Holmes and Barnes don’t and Halliburton is out is the problem. The kings are structurally flawed. And a new coach won’t help that.
Is the goal for Holmes and Barnes to have good games, or is the goal to win games? Team looks pretty good with the lineup we used to start the season. Isn't it possible that in the last two games Fox might be coming out of his shooting slump? We would still need to see if Fox goes right back into his slump as soon as Haliburton comes back.

Not sure anyone is blaming Fox for this unbalanced line-up. Lots of people are blaming Luke which is equally crazy.

We have a team bereft of forwards: Luke’s fault

We have a score of guards and the majority are poor outside shooters: Luke’s fault

He draws a play up that gets Metu wide open for a lob and our point guard misses him: Luke’s fault.

Hali is our only true high vision guard and is out: Luke’s fault.

DiD I dO iT rIgHt?

Oh and btw we are trending towards our usual 9-11 spot in the draft where the best player available is sure to be another guard: Luke’s fault. Amirite
One correction: the majority of our guards were good to great 3pt shooters last season and this season they've only played 12 games.

On the other hand, if you are absolutely rotation material but your coach holds you out of the rotation for no good reason, only to finally ask you to enter the game in the final minutes of a blowout after having already inserted the non-rotation substitutes, I can see why you'd not be terribly happy about it.
Then deal with it! Too freaking bad. He's not the only player who has been unhappy because he only got minutes at garbage time. It's time for him to wake up out of his coddled bubble and become an adult.

Deal with it lol. You lose 7 mill, have a less talented scrub start in your place and g leaguers get in games before you by a coach who doesn't deserve to coach, then out of know where with your team getting crushed asked to go in while the scrubs before you already ruined he game and deal with that. Should he have went in, probably. But why? Honest question? He still gets paid, his rotation stays the same and he doesn't risk injury. Would you? If you would then I have a bridge to sell you

Playing basketball is his job and he gets paid very well. Like it or not, the coach makes the decisions about the lineups and substitutions. Refusing to come into a game is basically the same thing as quitting on the team. Either he knows he's as good as gone and there's no point trying anymore or something else happened which is not being reported for reasons which are between Marvin and the coaching staff and we're all overreacting to nothing. It wouldn't be the first time.

Yes…..everything is Walton’s fault.

Listened to Sean Cunningham on 1320 on the radio. Several interesting tidbits but talking about Bagley he says that it’s not out of the ordinary that Bagley didn’t go on but most of the times it doesn’t happen often. Repeated what Amick got out of Monte that Bagley not playing is a Walton decision period.
Also said that Chris Finch who is coaching the TWolves is the guy the organization wanted to coach the team but he got snapped up.

What that last part means is that there was no one else they wanted but if Finch was willing then there was a good chance Walton was out.

It was a good level headed take from Cunningham.

It’s extremely unfortunate that Fox got it together in such a bad game. It’s easy to say inflated stats or whatever but during the 3rd quarter he went off and kept cutting the lead down almost to 10, keeping us in the game for stretches. Problem is we kept getting torched defensively and kept turning it over

Kayte + Jones made some great points, including that Walton was going 10 deep and running out some lineups that hadn’t played much together which was likely contributing to turnovers (and I’d think missing defensive assignments as well). Ramsey playing 22 minutes after having played less than 3 for the entire season is puzzling They also highlighted that Holmes wasn’t getting much usage, which obviously isn’t good.

Anyone that thinks that isn't following the actual plays being called because many of those plays are leading the latter. Now structural flaw is a given anytime you draft BPA and those players stack at the same basic positions as your other main talent. It is what it is but in the modern game, even that isn't going to end you if they can either run pick and roll and/or shoot.

What? So you stick with the turd sandwich because all the hamburger meat got snapped up? haha. Either way, we are starting to see the leaks in the media in relation to the Walton/Gentry camp now with some story about Gentry and Griffin. The timing might not be a coincidence, planting the seeds for a clean sweep of Walton/Gentry. I just hope that is the case and Bobby sitting next to Vivek the other night wasn't a coincidence either.

Meanwhile, Amick was on CD this morning and said he’d probably lean towards making the Fox for Simmons trade, but his gut feeling is Morey would be weary of Fox never being a winner and might not make the deal.
Yeah, can't trade for a guy that's carried a team on his back for 2 years for one that was afraid to take an open dunk. lol. If Monte offered Fox this deal is done in a nanosecond.

Carried the team on his back …. To sub .500 records and missing the playoffs. It’s going to end up another Boogie situation, except this time we’re not drafting stanker after stanker after stanker (Bagley the one glaring exception) but we still suck. Still. Again. Forever.

He ain't Superman. Although with Walton as his baggage Fox can apparently carry nearly the same amount of weight albeit for shorter stretches.

For those that don’t think Walton is a major problem…I also posted in the Fire Walton thread

From Yousef Baig on Twitter who is a Sac Bee opinion editor

Take this for whatever it's worth: I was sitting behind the Kings bench Monday night. Bagley's refusal is the least of their worries. I think Walton has completely lost the locker room. There is no joy around this group sacbee.com/sports/nba/sac… via @JandersonSacBee

Buddy gave an impassioned speech after the third quarter slaughter to try and rally the troops. And when Fox was on the bench, Doug Christie was in his ear the entire time dropping knowledge. When he went back in, he was like the Swipa we know and they went on that massive run.

It seems like guys are seeking leadership elsewhere and responding to everyone not named Luke Walton. This core of players has always responded to emotional, relatable leaders. In tough games, night after night, Walton doesn't have what it takes to keep them locked in.

The tweets were backed up by Jason Anderson

I didn’t hear the interview, but that aligns with my thoughts. I think what Amick was trying to say is the ways to build a winner around Fox is narrower than say Davion or Hali or Simmons, Look no further than the data provided by CD’s tweet above. And last year’s record plus this year’s when Fox is the primary ball handler.

There are probably about 10 guys in the whole league that can completely change the trajectory of a team, every one else is just a piece.

Fox is a good piece. If Fox returns to last seasons form, we start getting two or three other guys going at the same time and we still aren’t winning I would be onboard with some kind of change. Not sure what kind just yet. We will have options.

Carried a team on his back to what exactly? You acting like the dude is Lebron or something. Fox has "carried" this team about as much as KAT or Wiggins have "carried" the Timberwolves
Carrying a team to the wins you did get, or carrying them to being more competitive than they should be is still carrying them. Especially when putting up superstar productivity. KAT did. Wiggins, nah. Close at times though. And the Kings did compete for the window last year, mostly because of that carrying.
