Almost over - what else can we say about it? After the first 2 games it looked like Sonics in 5 and now it has become really hard to see it any other way. The way we played the 4 previous games 1 - 3 is not that bad at all. We are used to have longer season but times change and some are better than the others. The future is uncertain and we might as well enjoy seeing Kings playing in the post season because things can go either way (Lakers, wolves).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"MUST WIN GAME" - I hate that expression. However, it is what it is. The season might end tonight. Considering a summer that awaits this organization and the fans - every day that we can extend season -- we cut the summer shorter - winning the game would be nice. Also, not having any guarantees about reaching a PO in the future - makes me wanting to see more of this:eek:. Additionally, I would like to see and hear the ARCO crowd again because that is pretty much the only thing that was any good in this year's postseason.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"MUST LOSE GAME" - sound stupid and makes no sense but it crossed my mind many times since the 3rd quarter of the last game. Why extend this agony? Losing tonight will prevent me to see Kings playing pathetic BB on both ends of the floor. Losing will stop, Kings not playing as a team will stop, opponent's lay up drills will stop, opponent's career highs will stop, taking bad shots will stop, playing "hobbit ball" will stop, missing FTs will stop,” sad" coaching decisions" will stop, falling apart will stop, listening to stupid excuses and explanations will stop, listening to all the "experts" will stop. Suffering will end.
Still, I will watch the game cheering and rooting for the Kings, hoping for a miracle to extend the suffering for at least one more game. Being a fan is being a masochistic.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
How does one lose 19 pts lead in such an important game? Not that difficult at all especially considering that the lead was fake. It was not build on good basketball but on hitting tons of bad shots. In the second half - bad shots stopped falling, yet we continued to take them. We made some "retarded" turnovers, missed free throws and let a guy score 45 pts. So apparently losing 19 pts lead for this Kings team is very simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
On several occasions during the Sunday’s game I wished we still had Doug Christie. I know - he is old, hurt, slow etc - still wish we had him. Ray Allen would have at least needed more shots and free throws to get to 45. He would have had to work harder and he would have been punished more.
Then again, maybe it is just me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Listening to the post game quotes from the Kings players and coaches - adds insult to injury. Are they really that stupid to believe what they are saying or do they really think that everybody else is stupid? You can all fid the quotes and read them carefully. They keep talking and talking and bunch of words are coming out of their mouths but the do not make any sense. Only thing that I agree with is giving Sonics the credit for taking advantage of playing Kings. Not sure how hard it is but still.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whatever happens tonight - I will be fine either way. Have no expectations - leads to no disappointments. I will watch the game hoping that my team wins but being prepared for a blow out loss. This team is not a team that has a character of the team we had. There is no leadership from the top (coach) to the bottom (players). I am not even going to compare the talent here. Only good thing about this Kings team is the recognition that it will not exist past this summer - so there is something to look forward too.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonics - I still don't think that they have more talent. However I am more sure than ever that they have a better coach. “They have us on the ropes - can they land one more punch tonight?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another TNT game:mad:.The Sunday’s game was an embarrassment for any kind of "objective" broadcasting. The 2 idiots ( thompson & chapman) whose names do not deserve to be written in capital letters have put an exclamation point to the "homerism" in broadcasting history. I am not sure weather they are on Sonics pay list but it sure sounded like that. New wievers could have gotten the impression that Kings are a high school team, that R. Lewis is the best player of all time waiting to happen, and much much more. YUCK !

Well, I dont expect them to win, but if anything I would love to see at least a spirited effort on the floor, and if anything, I hope that the comments after game 4 gives them some fire.

in a way we all should not feel any shame for our team or players; they've been through alot of breakups and injuries. However, losing big leads and having don nelson for a coach does leave me with a disgruntled feeling. losing because your not as good or not as skilled is okay. losing because your too lazy is unacceptable; and that's how we're losing. i'll watch tonight's game, but like piksi, with little expectation. very little.

I have a bad feeling about this game, just like i did game 7 with the timberwolves last year, im gonna be soo depressed. It is way to early for the kings to leave. that means 6 months with no kings i dont know if i can handle that :( but i will have to huh, oh well go kings maybe they will shock us

Sorry, i cant agree with you. I still have winning expectations.

We wont lose, the team will be out to prove that they arent quitters. Our collective effort and desire will come through. We wont win by many, but we will hang around and snatch it down the stretch. I dont know who will take the winning sot, Mike, Peja ? but you will see, we will still be in the play-offs 2morrow.

Go Kings

Just curious, if McMillan is a better coach than Adelman, then how come this is the first time since '96 that the Sonics are doing better than the Kings? Could it have something to do with the players? Maybe it's something to do with the complete lack of chemistry on the Kings with all the roster turnover or with all the the teams starts, especially Peja being horribly inconsistent.

McMillan seems to have just alittle better situation. The team has much better chemisty in regards to the players having a full season of having played and practiced together. They also have alot of players playing for free agents contracts. Then they have this other guy, Ray something.... who happens to be a pretty darn good player if I may say so myself.

I don't really think it's fair to say Adelman's being outcoached, he has alot less to work with. His situation is a coaching nightmare. I agree with Mark Kreidler that this is actually Ricks' best coaching job.

But that's just my humble opinion.

Who's taking the final shot?? Isn't that a rhetorical question?

I might die of shock if Peja even thought about it.

well i would hope it wouldn't come down to a final shot. if we win i want us to win in convincing fashion. if it did come down to the kings making the winning shot that would make me happy, but i don't think i could take the rush. if we lose i'd rather lose by like 10, or 40. that way i won't expect a nail bitting finish. i have no nails left.

Hey, I'm sure your nails will have plenty of time to heal over the summer :). I'd much rather see the Kings put up a fight instead of getting blown out. However, I have no idea what to expect.

Purely out of curiosity, what are the broadcasters supposed to say in that situation?

Well, for me it's as easy as......The Kings are STILL in the playoffs. My Kings are playing ball tonight, so I am going to watch. If they win, I will watch on Friday. I will give them my full support until it is just not needed anymore. That is what a fan does. Thick or thin. Good or bad. I will certainly be upset if we are eliminated tonight, but I will commend the Kings on playing as well as they did this season with all the changes and injuries and I will start to look forward to Oct/Nov.

I'm with you Daniela. And I agree with Fillmoe, too. I am looking at it as one game at a time.

As to Nate McMillan being better than Adelman. The comment was made that Nate had this roster to play and practice all year....he's actually pretty much had this roster two years, I believe. I know the Sonics made no off-season roster changes. That's why everybody was so surprised at how they played this year. Adelman has had his current roster since...what day did the playoffs start? Nate MacMillan is also fortunate enough to have Allen, a not inconsiderable advantage. I just don't think you can compare the two coaches by the current series.

Keep things in perspective, there are good teams that didn't make the playoffs, and they didn't go through changes the Kings did.

I hope to god Adelman gives Tag some minutes tonight, especially if the Sonics start a run. Be nice to see some House in too if Bibby gets cold like he did on Sunday.

I'm hoping the team comes out and plays hard and as a team for 48 minutes. I believe if they do, they can win. And yes, I've recaptured some perspective. Before the series my realistic (as opposed to fan) perspective was that I would not be shocked to see the Kings go out in the 1st round. Reaching the 2nd round would be a success in my eyes (still would be).

If this team doesn't come out and show heart, desire and wan to kick someones *** then I want wholesale changes during the summer. Kings have a chance for a little payback and to show us, as well as themselves, something.....hopefully it's not a pile of horse****.

Win or go home, that's what tonite boils down to. This is the last game I get to see live if we don't get to the second round and I don't want it to be a loss. I'll be happy if we PLAY for 4 quarters something we haven't done yet in the po's, not in one game anyway. Let's see the heart and intensity we're known for and need. GO TEAM!!!
