I probably should have included the word "intentional" as in:

If none of the Kings were selected, I don't think it was an INTENTIONAL snub. I do not think the coaches sat around with their cell phones, calling each other to make sure no King player got the nod.

I do agree the players may take it as a slap in the face, but I doubt seriously if they're looking at it as some kind of consiracy, to use a word I absolutely detest.

The fact we had three players worthy of consideration may have, in fact, ended up hurting us more than helping us. As uolj pointed out, various coaches might have voted for either Bibby, Webber or Brad, wanting to make sure they didn't snub our team. But, if those votes were equally spread among the three players, they might have pretty much cancelled each other out.

Agreed, but they do have legitimate grounds to feel disrespected.

Agreed. :D

And those feelings might just manifest themselves in the "I'll show you" factor. If it does, tonight's game is gonna be really interesting!

These young men don't play the game just for the money. They play it because it's in their blood. The gauntlet has been thrown, IMHO, and I think the whole league just might get a message tonight.

Am I sure? Nope, but I'm sure it's a real possibility!

:D

Take it another step further, I hope if one of these All-stars get injured or are unable to participate and a King is offered the spot, I hope they decline.
I hope so too. :) Same reasons as Reina stated.

GO KINGS!

I sure do hope the Kings players take this as an insult. I definitely think the Kings got jipped. At the same time I'm not too upset because it'll give the guys some much-needed rest and hopefully light a fire under their butts when they play SA, Phx and Seattle to prove that the NBA made a mistake. :)

I think it's pretty obvious we are like the Eagles. Only difference is they have some probowlers.
Good call...I like that comparison...Webb is like our McNabb. How can Webb not get picked, he's having probably the best year, all around, that he's had in quite some time. He's transformed his game into something great this year.

I so want you to be right!!!

Go Kings

I bet you something got switched around in the all-star voting.. if there is a lot of kings fans, webber, bibby, or miller would've benn in the all-star game. No reason to hate a team just because we are the MOST unselfish team..yeah we have every right to brag!! GO KINGS!!

Frankly - don't know how to react to this news. I'm happy and sad. Happy that nobody will get injured in the stupid game and they will get the rest. Sad that Kings were not recognized as worthy team to have an All-Star player this year.

As for replacements - do players have option to reject being replacement?

On this issue, Coolhandluke, pffft, piksi, Folsom Al, Alacron, McSluggo, Bibby 10, KP, and ReinadelosReys have alrady stated my opinion.

The bottom line is that I am VERY happy that NO Kings were selected. The pretender-teams are definitely going to pay for this. What a stroke of good fortune. :)

we don't play SA again this season, but our next three games are against the west all-star reserves with the exception of ginobili. so yeah, the kings have something to prove:D !!!

west all-star reserves:
G-Ray Allen-Seattle
F-Rashard Lewis-Seattle
F-Amare Stoudemire-Phoenix
F-Shawn Marion-Phoenix
G-Steve Nash-Phoenix
F-Dirk Nowitzki-Dallas
F-Manu Ginobili-San Antonio

i don't know what's with the coaches but lewis, marion, and ginobili are not better than webber or having better seasons than webber.

The NBA aught to be ashamed!

Honestly, I have never heard of (I thought Webb was a lock.)
the NBA player of the month prior to the all star game not being selected in my years of following the NBA.
-Steve Francis also should of been selected.
- A elite team with a good record not having an all star is disgraceful, especially when having 4 perennial all stars.

Rashard Lewis is good but he isn't good enough to ignore the Kings from being picked.

Whatever, theres nothing we fans can do about it and Brad Miller did get hurt last year in the all star game.

Might as well get the rest.

I bet this is the first time a guy with 21/10/5 stats on a team over 10 games over 500 missed out on the allstar game. Even if he was injured for a couple games so what, Jermaine missed a ton and he was still picked.

The goal for the Kings is to win the NBA Championship. With that said, having a player on the All Star team is NOT going to help the team win a title. However, not having anyone on the All Star team just might help this team in the long run to get over the hump. How sweet would it be for the Kings to win it all in June with no All Stars on the team.

Stat comparison: Player 1 Player 2
PPG 20.5 21.6
RPG 5.5 9.6
APG 1.1 5.1
SPG 1.19 1.56
BPG .91 .72
Turnovers 1.79 2.87
FG% 46.7 45.7
FT% 76.2 80.0

Both players are forwards in the Western conference. Player 1 was selected to the All Star team by the coaches b/c his team has two fewer losses than Player 2's team.

Hopefully Bibby gets added when Kobe doesn't play.

Edit: apologies...I cannot seem to figure out how to format the columns above

The Kings got robbed. The person I thought would MOSTLY get it is Brad Miller. I CAN"T believe he didnt make it. But there are some good and bad things about this:

Good news

Give players rest, Kings can have fun on the weekend

Bad news

Kings might get ticked off, and then start a losing streak, lose confidence

Lose confidence because they didn't get selected for the All-Star team? I think not.

I have a LOT more faith in our team apparently. I cannot imagine them losing confidence because of this. If anything, they will become more motivated not less.

I agree with you guys. The kings might actually gain confidence as well. They might lose confidence and they might not.

Anything can happen in the NBA. But IMHO, there is a very slight chance this will happen.

Dude, they are NOT going to lose confidence over this. Why would they? The Kings have been underestimated and/or ignored for years. It's nothing new.
