Kings shut out of All-Star voting

It's basically because the league wouldn't let coaches vote in Lewis as a guard, so he took Webber's spot at forward. Still, Lewis over Webber and Ginobili over Bibby are questionable moves, at best. I would think that Bibby will get the nod since Kobe's hurt. I just hope this adds some fuel to the Kings' fire.

When we win the title in June, the announcers will gush about how we did it with quality team play and no all star.

I Hope This Doesn't Bother Our Players .....

I sorta look at like we're "The New England Patriots" of the NBA.

In case any of you aren't familiar with the Patriots .... no stars, all contributors towards a TEAM EFFORT.

There is no I or ME .... it's US and WE.

In a way I'm glad they're not playing .... the team practice and rest is welcomed !!!

Only reason he is on there is because they wanted the best team in the league to have more than one player. Bibby scores 3 more a game, dishes out 2 more assists per game and they have identical rebounding numbers.

Still, for the Sonics to have 2 and the Suns have 3 with the Kings having none is a joke.
bibby takes 4 more shots/game to get those three points, shoots worse fg%, ft%, and 3pt%. i wouldn't be disappointed if bibby had gotten the nod over ginobili. it's just clearer to you than to some of the coaches. but i'm shocked that the kings couldn't get any representation at all. that's excuseless.

Good news... no injuries, and the guys will have a chip on their collective shoulder, not to mention continue flying below the public radar. I like, I like!

Brad didn't even want to go this year. I think it would be a nice gesture to Brad to have all the so called NBA GURUS miffed about his snub from this years team.

I actually think Brad is the kind of guy that would rather have the GURUS upset about him not being picked, than for him to actually be onthe team... I think Brad wants the time off.

I'm fine with this. The mentality that "X" team should have 1 2 or 3 players based on how "X" team on the whole is seated in the standings has always been bunk to me. THis is an INDIVIDUAL honor. They have different honors to heap on good team play (playoff seedings, rings and banners)

The King's are pretty good at sharing the glory amongst themselves. Different peoiple step up when they have to. Good for them.

Each one of the kings has individual weaknesses, but the sum of the parts is pretty damn good

the snub doesn't really bother me....other than the fact that Mike has never gone and i know that its something he wanted to go...so i feel bad about that

i thought miller was in?? didn't he finish second in voting behind yao???

well, if he's not; at least he won't sprain his ankle like he did in last year's ASG.

the funny thing is that he's having a better year than last.:D

like other board members have said, this will be good rest time and it should give the kings a little something to prove!!!

yeah.. i think mike would want to go, too.. i really feel bad about that.. if mike didn't make it and webb did, it would be ok with me cause atleast we got represented..

mike could've also went last year, but allen was picked over him.. mike has always been on the outside looking in, and i feel so bad..

question: what's up with this ginobili being picked as a forward? (saw it on the espnnews ticker) i'd understand being picked as a guard.. but forward? webb is more deserving of a forward spot than manu is, imo..

oh well.. i hope we beat up the suns tonight.. then seattle and dallas after..

it doesn't matter where you finish in the fan poll.. the coaches will vote on who the reserves will be..

^^ yep.. they put amare at center cause that's the position he plays with the suns..

and maybe because they didn't think brad was more deserving than any of those other forwards they added..

sorry if it's already been mentioned but who is yao's backup then?
I think Amare??

I was one of the people that said I prefer no Kings in the All Star game. But even though I said that, I thought at least one of the Kings players were going to make the list. I'm very shock to see none made it.

You're right LMM and iheartBrad. Last night on the news, they asked Bibby if he mind going to the All Star game. He said it'll be nice but he won't hold his breath on it. I think with no Kings selected, it'll make the players play harder. And I'm glad the players will have the weekend off during the All Star break to rest and have a short vacation. :)

I'll pile on and say that it is shocking that NO King would make it. I was believing all along that Brad would go and no one else.

I'll also say like the majority that this really doesn't matter in the scheme of things. It's just more of the same. It's NOT political, it's just how the coaches' votes played out, that's all.

Rest for our guys will be good, given the missed games and playing with injury games we've had lately. In that vein, I really now hope that Mike will not be called upon as a substitute all star, although I'm sure HE feels differently.

Finally, I most definitely will NOT be watching the all-star game, like many of you.

It's all good...in the long run. Our team has been disrespected overall during its run in the last several years, so why should this year be any different?

None of this really matters.

All-Star voting is a joke. I'm sorry, but Yao Ming has had a horrible year. That guy should be so much more dominant. For him to be leading the overall voting is just ridiculous.

While Yao may have the most potential as a center in the West, Brad Miller has obviously had the better year. Miller is one of the top 5 centers in the entire NBA.

And Webber got jipped too. He's had an outstanding year so far. But I can understand Peja and Bibby not getting the nod. Bibby has been heating it up lately, but so far he's been kind of inconsistent. Plus peja has been non-existent.

Anyways, I think this is a blessing in disguise. For a kings team that is plagued by injuries, the last we need is for someone to go down in an exhibition game. And don't forget what happened to Brad at last years All-Star game.

yeah, like most voting... it's a popularity contest and not who is doing or will be doing a better job.:(

Yeah, me too. I wasn't planning on watching it this season (and last, but Brad and Pedja made it, so I watched..heh) but thanks to no Kings players making it, more reason not to watch.

Just like the Kings players....I'll be having my weekend off and relaxing. :D

Good post^ ...Not getting anyone picked from our team? Thats just weak, If this doesn't motivate the team nothing will. One thing this shows is that the Kings no longer have the respect of anyone around the league. I was pretty shocked to see that no one was going, but you guys are right, we need the rest anyway.
