Well? How 'bout that coaching staff?

If the Kings bring the end of game energy they displayed against Dallas into Houston we may have another shot at .500. If you guys watched the same game I did, then you saw four guys play with energy the entire game (If not, get your parallel universe out of mine you space invader.) Evans, Thompson, Noc, and Beno. Hawes and Donte, you're grounded. Wait, maybe that was the problem, huh?

Oh, and let's just get it out of the way: Drew Gooden is the greatest rebounding machine that ever graced an NBA floor in history. Should have known better than to let that guy go.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, Tyreke Evans almost stole the spotlight from Jennings tonight. He was 3 rebounds away from a triple double. The last King that had a triple double was Brad Miller back in 2007. The only part of Evans's game that is a knock against him (as far as hoity toity analysts are concerned, because I could really care less as long as he's making shots) is his penchant for dominating the ball in big time moments. He wavers. He looks tired, then he sucks it up and resumes his big time play. I hope he has some left in the tank for the Rockets. If I know Adelman, they're gonna try to run him into the ground early.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The good (or bad) news is, Tracy Mcgrady will not play in this one either. Trevor Ariza has stepped right in and helped this limping Rockets team to a 7-6 record very quietly. There is no star on this Houston team, so they play tough every night. Right after we layed the wood into them they turned around and beat the Lakers in L.A. two days later. They were probably angry. Expect our King's to have a pound of flesh extracted in this one, this will probably be a revenge thing.

Award time:

TDM- Gooden for channeling the great Bill Russell. Somebody wasn't paying attention in the first quarter, and I'm glad they picked up on him because he could have easily nabbed 30 rebounds at his early ungodly rate.

LW-VC- Quinton Ross, too bad Donte didn't show up. This would have been the difference right here.

JHA- Buckets didn't score no buckets! Whatup with that Buckets?! Man, Buckets, you was weak tonight. Weak.

RA&1- Jose Juan Barea doesn't even look like he belongs in the league. He gets this for distracting me with his slowness. Ugh.

SAR- Methuselah- Tim Thomas. I thought this guy retired or something. He got 11 on us from the bench, but he is 32 years old... (reaching, I know)

WTF moment(s) of the game- The final minute. WHY didn't they play that way throughout the game?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Piksi the pessimistic prognosticator predicted (nice, huh?) that we fall below .500 against the Mavs. Realistically, I can't see us doing any better against the Rockets. Not on the second night of a back to back following a close game. But hey, it should be fun anyway. Let's see more energy, GO KINGS!!!

Rockets got screwed by refs against the Hawks just like the Kings did. Should be an interesting battle of the recently jobbed. My prediction: RA gets T'd up and JT fouls out early.

I heard Adelman talk about the Ariza / Artest trade last week, and how great he thinks Ariza is. The interviewer asked him something about Artest and he said few words, like "oh yeah, Artest." But the way he said it, you could tell Artest gave him some headaches along the way.

Well I like how Westphal approaches the turnovers he keeps saying
I keep telling them not to throw the ball to the other team
Classic

I think he have a good chance it win this one. Houston is home after a very long roadtrip, which ended last night in Atlanta. Thats a pretty tough back 2 back for them.

Not going to be easy winning a second time. No surpises. I hope Greene has the same type of performance as previous Houston game. Should be well rested.

Be interesting to see how Reke's energy level is after 43 min and a couple of minor injuries (ankle, hand) last night. Starting to accumualte the bumps and bruises of a long NBA season and a physical playing style.

We can all hope that he's a Mitch Richmond in that sense, a 'Rock' that can take the bumps and bruises and keep on ticking. We'll see...

I'm a little surprised here. Donte didn't get the starting nod with Noc back in the line-up, but for the 11 minutes he did get I thought he played very well. He played better defense against Tim Thomas, being a bit bigger and longer than Casspi, and I didn't see him making any mental errors or showing a lack of focus.

I'll agree that compared to the last game it seems as if he fell quite a bit off his game, but considering what he was asked to do, I was quite happy with his contribution.

Bucket's mentality should continue to be that of focused hard work on the defensive end, good shot selection and aggressive takes to the hoop on the offensive end, and a willingness to hustle and scrap through-out it all. If he continues to do that, I don't mind him not making any baskets.

I think we can win this game against the Rockets. I think we'll be much more focused on not turning the ball over, and if we can succeed in that in conjunction with the same display of intensity/hustle/defense as we've had in the past few games, then we certainly have the talent to win this game.

Wow news travels slow around here these days. I heard about Tyreke not playing over an hour ago.

Not all of us have access to KHTK, nebs...

I'm still going to be watching and rooting. GO KINGS!!!

This should give more minutes to Donte and some different looks to our backcourt. And I'm willing to bet Adelman couldn't have prepped the Rockets on what to look for and where to focus.

:)

Well without tyreke taking 20 shots(which I don't have a problem with), this is a great opportunity for Spencer to get his rythm back.

And jack up 20 3's of his own...woo hoo!!!

I'm pretty sure if Westphal didn't want him to try those shots when he's wide open, Hawes wouldn't be trying them. And he's made both of them so far.

Hawes sinks a couple of those and starts to get his confidence back and it will carry over into all aspects of his game. You can take that to the bank.
