Hall of Famer
Finally a win and not a woss for the Kings who finished a 4 game home stand with 3-1 which is above expectations considering a 0-4 we had last time. Kings "improved" to 15-21 which is 11th worst in the NBA. Also Kings improved to 11-9 at home but they are still 4-12 on the road where they will play 6/7 games in the next 11 days or so. Kings are going to a 3 game East trip playing Raptors and then a back to back set in Detroit and Indiana. Also Kings should eventually be at "full strength" at some point during the trip.

Mavs are an example that doesn't fit well into advertising for the lottery but they have no reason for it. They have a superstar and as poor as he might be playing these days he is still reigning MVP. They have gotten by with low draft picks or undrafted players like Howard, Harris and some other guys that they traded to get veteran players. Also they don't care too much about the salary cap. Basically, they are what we were between 2001 and 2005 (approximately). Now they last longer because their superstar is still healthy and their owner is committed to winning and seams do be making better decisions as much as we all dislike him. They are the elite, about 6-7 teams are doing a great job preparing for lottery - 2 of them involuntarily (Heat, Knicks). There are some teams that are in the developing phase with the raising tendency. We are nowhere and that has got to change and it will - just how much more time it will be wasted before it happens.. In 2000 there were 2 upcoming, exciting teams that battled a lot and it had a promise to be a rivalry of the future. 2 teams so similar and yet so different. Mavs are still chasing that dream. What the hell happened to us ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our "friend" Chris Webber is in a talk with lakers who FYI still and always will - SUCK. It fits perfectly into the story in which we are down and BB gods are still kicking us in the guts. That will be tough one to swallow if it happens. Now, we had a similar situation with Vlade but then again Vlade was part of the lakers when he was young and dumb but he came to his senses right on time. Yes he went back there but only to eat up their cap and not play for them. I call that - job well done. I wish CW well but I hope that if he plays for the Lakers - he loses a lot and often and obviously I can't wish him the ring that he deserves. Same thing goes if he decided to go to Mavs. Other than that - if he comes to a "normal" team - he can and will be an asset if used properly because even on one leg and a long break - he is still a non plus ultra for Moores of the NBA.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike Bibby should be back tonight. If You don't remember him anymore. He is the overpaid guy that owns half of his contract to Webber and who we will hopefully trade fast for something that will help us get out of here. Mike hasn't played this season so he isn't in the game shape. He is coming from the worst season in his career and I don't think that he can do any worse. If put into a proper situation - he can still be a valuable asset for many teams. We should take advantage of this. Now, he isn't in a game shape and his situation is not comparable to Kevin's situation so it will be interesting to see how he will do. First game he will play on adrenaline and he might even do well but expecting any consistency - is not very realistic. Coming of the bench - he will match up with Dixon and that is a good test for Mike. We really need him to play well and soon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since we kinda switched to "small ball" - Mikki Moore has once again become his old self - meaning waste of playing time and salary space. In the last 3 games he is averaging 6/6/1bl a TO and over 5 fouls per game from which one is for fouling a 3pt shooter in 30 minutes of play. You add a below average defense and ask Youself where 17 millions are going for the next 3 years. I don't know either. Also he is eating playing time that Hawes and Williams could use to develop and gain experience. I don't know if they can produce less than Mikki given same amount of playing time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin for the best 6th in the NBA man campaign has started. Sure, he has only played 2 games in this role but the way I gee it - it is more than enough. There are only 2 players who even have potential to produce this big. Gordon and Flopibili but Kevin is generally more efficient. In the last 2 games - Kevin has been an upgraded version of Bobby Jackson with a somewhat more difficult task because Bobby usually had a lead and rarely had to play from behind. Kevin is just terrorizing the opponent's second unit and first for that matter. Sure he is a starter but this "new" role is intriguing since he can still play starter minutes and his efficiency has ridiculously increased. I would not put him yet on a "Rip Hamilton" level even though the similarities are obvious but maybe one day and soon.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As I ecpected - we would get a decent shot to beat Mavs. I was worried about the closing the game part but we did well. It was a quality win for us in a game where Kevin was abusing all of their perimeter players who tried everything including the diving and the flopping "Italian" way. Reason we won is simple. We finally took care of the ball producing incredible 9 turnovers and 20 assists. 10 turnovers less than Mavs. Everything else went Mavs way including 57% from the field and 64% from downtown. We have lost bunch of close games by being retarded at the end. Last night - we earned it.

AWARD TIME
TDM went to Bass who had a decent game - nothing big. My pick Barea looked like scrub tonight - which he is.
LW-VC award went to Josh Howard who finally had just a decent game since he is usually filing us up pretty good.
I have to give the JHA to Mikki. I have been avoiding it lately but this time - come on ! In 30 minutes of play my grandmother could have the same stats and I am sure she can cook much better and she doesn't scare people at night.
WTF moment of the game - the first quarter defense or lack thereof.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Raptors are next and they will play back to back game since they had their 3 game winning streak snapped in Detroit which isn't a big deal since many streaks have been ending there in the past. Raptors like us - always have some injury issues. T.J Ford and Garbahosa won't play and since we are getting Bibby back - who knows. They have good shooters and if we don't guard them as usual - we will have a long night. We could really use the way we took care of the ball in the last game. Some things will be interesting to see like "who can jump less" competition involving Brad and Rasho. Also watching Bibby defend is always a "pleasure." I expect Moon to have a play of the night in the NBA tonight
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - welcome back
Kevin - do it again, do it again ! (voice from the stupid Wade commercial)
Brad - a better shooting night would be nice
Salmons - clutch
Cisco - on fire
Mikki - hope that KT is saving him some space right next to him
Beno - pass first please !
Hawes & Williams - more PT
Jones - good defense
QD - Cisco square
KT - having a MVP type of the season
Coach T - so far so good
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raptors are 6th in the "Least" with 20-18 record meaning they are as mediocre as we are. They are 10-8 at home but since that is Leastern conference - the numbers can't be taken seriously. Who knows how many tmes they [layed Heat and Knicks ? They do have a decen team. Bosh has been playing better since "Bubba" approved his all star campaign. They shoot well and they have quick guards. TDM will go to Moon, LW-VC will go to Rasho. Anybody's game tonight.
