LOL watch by tonight the fire RA thread will be back and running, the trade thread will be full of trade so and so. We already have a thread calling Cisco a bum. And again my point is EVERYONE knew we would get beat tonight. If we played an A game maybe a chance to steal but anything less and we were getting beat. Thats what happened and I am not really dissapointed by this effort tonight. I knew it would happen before it started.

This was a fun game to watch. I'm actually pleased we managed to keep up that long and the minutes for the bench (as well as the rest for the starters) are important. I hope no one starts overreacting. This IS the pistons, and at their homecourt. They're just flat out better than us no matter how well we play.
Not only that, but they played better than normal tonight. How often are their starters going to go 10/14 from downtown?

Piksi - "As often as they play the Kings."

Thank you Piksi :\

Our team does NOT match up well against the Pistons.

We've got a spot shooter in Peja who requires open looks and defensive lapses to get off his shot.

We've got a center that is basically the same way. Put token pressure on him and he folds.

We've got a PG that can't really dribble all that well, and thusly wilts when pressure is put on him.

We've got a SG who is sorely outmatched in the post when you've got people that want to play defense.

We've got a PF who CAN score but doesn't demand or seem to want to touch the basketball.

All in all ... we don't match very well offensively.

Since we don't match against a pee-wee team defensively, I won't mention it.

A few good notes

BENCH:
Kings 36: Pistons: 8

TO's:
Kings 11: Pistons: 12

Even with Billups ASSISTS crazyness
Kings 26: Pistons: 32 Not bad considering...

Dreb
Kings 30: Pistons 29

We got beat at the 3 point line

Kings 3-10 : Pistons 10-20

Hopefully Ronnie Price gets some more burn, he's athletic and he hustles... Maybe we can get a defensive stopper???
They seem to think he has a chance to be a good defender. I kind of like the little we've seen of him.

He played solid defense in the VSL and pre-season. Also showing off some offense.

I like him, and am glad we have him.

As far as tonight, an ultimately expected loss. Solid effort tonight though, I think.

Billups is indeed, damn great.

I also gotta put some blame on Shareef, 14 points 2 boards 3 assists? WTF IS THAT? Then he goes and lets Rasheed get 8 boards and 19 points on only 9 shots with 2 assists... Okay that is basically a usual night for Rasheed but still. Sheed only had to take 9 shots to score 19 points. Brad's defense is pathetic but atleast he had a good night statistically. Peja, well he turned his sorry self into michael freakin dunleavy... Atleast he didn't get lit up too bad(only because prince didn't take more shots though). Mike, wow. Good job giving Chauncey a career night... Mike sucked and got lit up defensively, he needs to get his PG skills back.

Bench: good job! Maybe they can get some burn on friday.

Rasheed got 9 of his points from 3pt shots. Power forwards do not guard 3pt shots very well. Besides, Shareef have more assists than our point guard.

Yeah, I think he has a lot of potential. Apparently he can shoot too(but we haven't seen his shooting ability). If he can turn into a good passer and since he's athletic we could have a real nice point guard in a few years...atleast I hope.

Reef's anti-power is Rasheed Wallace.

He's never had good games against Rasheed. He's just got Reef's number.

Sorry guys. Back to reality now.

Roiughly a 95% that Price is a scrub that will be kicking around training camps for a few years before disappearing overseas. Its a popular vocational choice for everybody to always love the 12th man, but his may be a particularly egregious example.

i didn't follow the game just now, can someone tell me, why the starters didn't get alot of playing time?any idea?
We tried to rest them in the second because of the back to back, and the bench played well so we left them oout for w ahile. And then the game started to slip ouot of reach in the early 4th, and we put the benchers back in to see if anything would change. It did not, so we just let the bench play out the string rather than rack up unnecesary minutes in a lost cause.
