If Martin received player of the week would it be the first time a player who played all games off the bench received that honor?

oh really? salmons drives into traffic most of the time with one thing in mind, score. what is the damn difference here? Artest gets alot more criticism then deserved and it makes me sick. Salmons is a ball hog just as much as anyone on this team buddy, he is apart of our iso problem.

The difference between Artest and Salmons is that Salmons when he shoots doesn't wait (with the ball in his hands) 10-15 seconds before shooting the ball. I think that's why Artest gets that ball hog tag, because he tends to hold the ball a lot longer than Salmons.

Great win! My only beef is why the hell do you keep playing Mikki Moore. I just don't get it. He plays 33 minutes and gets 5 rebounds and he must have put butter on his hands because he kept fumbling the ball.

He dips his hands in that same butter before every game. If I was asked how many times Mikki fumbled what would be an easy layup or dunk I would say in the range of 40 to 60 times this year.

Moore is a pure energy guy, he makes plays when need, what exactly do you expect from the guy ?

Since he's a starter, and consumes nearly all the minutes at PF, it would be nice if he could do better than being the 10th most productive player on the team. He should not be worse than all the other starters, and worse than 5 of the bench to boot. Beating out Hawes, Douby, KT, and a couple of guys we waived is not enough to justify 30 minutes a game.

P.S. - As an afterthought, I took a look at the dregs of the NBA, to see how the PFs on the 10 other worst teams compared. Here are the results.

...........................+/-......Roland Rating
Gasol(MEM)........+5.0.....+5.6
Wallace(CHA)......+3.0.....+4.3
Jefferson(MIN).....+5.3.....-1.9
Smith(CHI)...........+3.8....+1.4
Randolph(NYK)....+1.8.....+0.2
Thomas(LAC)......-2.0......+3.6
Collison(SEA)......+0.5......-0.9
Yi(MIL).................-2.2......-1.1
Haslem(MIA)........-3.8......-6.8
Moore(SAC).........-6.3......-4.0
Evans(PHI)..........-7.8......-6.4

Mikki's ranking among qualified PFs: #41 in rebounds/48, #48 in points/48, #27 in blocks/48, #32 in TO/48.

So the good news is that Mikki is not the worst starting PF in the NBA. That's Reggie Evans. The bad news is that he's probably 2nd worst.

Totally true. We would win a hell of a lot more games if Moore was coming off the bench. I actually like Moore's energy, and team play. He is a great asset to any team looking for that spark plug. But he is not a starter. He hurts the team playing all those minutes. I seriously think that Hawes would put up better numbers if he were to have the minutes that Moore has. Of course it wouldn't be that hard.

Still doesnt matter, ball hogging is ball hogging.

Driving can draw extra defenders, and that means he can pass to an open man. Remember, he was leading the team in assists for a while when Ron was out. Also, driving into traffic also means drawing fouls, and it would be totally different if he didn't finish, but he's very good at creating space and hitting those midrange 10 foot jumpers. Yes, John needs big minutes and the ball to be effective, but I don't think he's a ball hog any more than I think Martin is. 10 foot shot > long three.

About the game: I didn't see the first half, but I wasn't impressed at Ron's offensive play late. He almost shot the team out of the game. I would have really liked to see Salmons in the game and get more minutes. He only played 20 minutes, and went 0-2. Now, here's the thing about Salmons and Artest: Ron will be gone before John, and the team signed John for a multiyear deal, so I would try to work with John a little more and get him minutes, seeing as he's going to be part of the future core, and Ron isn't. Theus should find a way to get that guy more than 20 minutes and 2 shots IMO. Anyway, Bibby looked less of a hog today, but I liked what I saw from Beno too. He was able to play decent defense and if I wasn't seeing things, I thought I saw Bibby and Beno on the court at the same time (could have been wrong, I was tired).
