eh, those experienced teams are suffering from the same kinda losses right now. This season is just different
yeh we as fans think that our team is the only one facing adversity and everyone else has their stuff together. The Pelicans just lost 10 in a row with all that depth and supposedly a great coach. The Warriors have all their main pieces from a championship and can hardly get to .500. Wolves traded the world and started off rough. I don’t know how things end up but Fox and Sabonis are having career years, we have chemistry, are coached well and have a solid supporting cast. We just need to play well and learn on the fly how to grit games out when we aren’t flowing. It’s there for the taking.

I will say one thing about Brown that might be impacting our players lack of aggression. He talks about hitting singles and not trying to do to much. In general that’s a good thing and why the Kings have been so fun to watch this year. We don’t do much iso outside Fox. I do wonder if it causes a bit of hesitation from guys who maybe might try to be more aggressive otherwise. How many times this year has someone outside of Fox really gone on a heater outside of splashing threes within the flow of the offense?

he has? is this based on stats or the eye test?
Mostly eye test because it's hard to judge the Kings defensively since IMO their system is garbage. They overhelp and the biggest problem with the Kings in the paint is the drop scheme they play on pick and roll. Sabonis is almost always there to challenge players within the system and at the rim with verticality and has caught his fair share of shots to the face in the process haha. He's not a shot blocker but he's worked his butt off to help change shots. Also I rate defensive rebounding as a huge strength with his defense. I think last I checked the Kings were like 21-23 on opponent percentage at the rim which for a horrible defensive team could be a lot worse haha.

To a certain extent yes. I would counter though that our offense works much better when it flows and not one player is playing hero ball. I cant be the only one who gets frustrated when davion dribbles the ball into the ground and does his own iso thing. We have had a number of games where guys have been able to eat and get theirs in the normal flow of the game.

THIS! I was pissed a few hours ago but had to think logically. Let's get back on track starting tonight (Please God).

has anyone noticed Sabonis taking a step back defensively compared to 20ish games ago? He doesn't seem to offer much resistance at the rim. It could be the fatigue getting to him. Very thankful to him as our all-star, but his defense is dreadful sometimes. At the same time, is our perimeter defense ever going to get better? how do we allow them to shoot 53.8% from 3pt?

For being a defensive guru...Mike Brown kinda sucks at it
We just don't have defensive talent. Most of the wide open shots for opposing teams are available because half the players in the league can just straight line drive past any one of our players. Even Davion gets abused way more often than not.

Once they drive past the defender, the entire play is now broken and someone has to come help. Which means someone is left wide open. It's really like clockwork. Screening isn't even necessary half the time. Nearly every one of the players on the roster can be taken off the dribble by most any semi competent ball handler.

I think that directly correlates to him not fouling out of games as much. He’s too critical to lose, though apparently not as critical as Fox, and aggressive defense from him forces us to pull him when we’re playing the other team and te refs too.

Kingster

Hall of Famer
I sat out watching the game for personal reasons. Glad I did. I might want to sit out the next one for personal reasons. From skimming through the DVR it looked like the team sat out the game for personal reasons, metaphorically speaking.
