This from Hoopshype:
Rick Bonnell: My source on Karl-Kings says things are close to fruition, yet could fall apart. I know this sounds convoluted, but accurate. Twitter @rick_bonnell

This reminds me of:
Dean Oliver, Nicholas Reeves, Most of them within the analytics department. I even have a friend in marketing who literally has text convo's with Vivek on a daily basis. Ownership runs the organization through a glass wall, let me tell you.
The Glove is still the Glove (i.e. a crazy person)
I cannot wait for this news to be made official!
We FINALLY have a real NBA coach, guys!![]()
I imagine they've both said "deal," and now they are just spending the next couple days ironing out details. Those details wont affect the deal that's in place, but they are settling the distribution of power in house, figuring out what Karl can and cannot control.Don't you guys think the deal is in the bag already, and they're just sandbagging on the announcement until after tomorrow's game? That's what I figure - I'll bet the agreement is inked already - or at minimum both sides have verbalized "deal".

Once a deal is reached between George Karl and Kings, I'm told offensive guru Vance Walberg is expected to be brought on as an assistant.
Hard to believe this info would get out of a deal is NOT going to end up taking place.
Anyways, anbody know much about this "offensive guru"?
Did your sources flip flop?![]()
The dribble drive motion is an offensive strategy in basketball, developed by former Pepperdine head coach Vance Walberg during his time as a California high school coach and at Fresno City College.
The offense was popularized at the major college level by John Calipari while at The University of Memphis, and was sometimes called the "Memphis Attack". Originally called 'AASAA' by Walberg (for "Attack, Attack, Skip, Attack, Attack"), the offense is also sometimes known as the 'Walberg offense' or abbreviated to DDM, and has been described as "Princeton on steroids".[1]
The offense focuses on spreading the offensive players in the half court, so that helping on dribble penetration or skips becomes difficult for the defense, because the help will leave an offensive player open without any defenders near him. As an example a guard can drive through the defensive gaps for a layup or dunk, or pass out to the perimeter if the defense collapses onto him.
Ok, your "insiders" gave you a rumor of what was going on with "outsiders" and Demarcus. Got it.No, they never said the deal was in jeopardy, all I was told was that many outsiders were in the head of Demarcus Cousins, which had a non-viable shot of making this a much harder deal to make, however with our without his approval, the deal was going to get done.

I was teaching some courses at FCC while he was there and caught quite a few games, very good at taking raw talent and quickly working it into an offensive system. His sets were pretty simple and loose, usually with more dribble and less pass and multiple scoring options. Collision would be a nice fit but I fear MacLemore and Ruddy who I think over dribble as it is might stick the ball up. But as other posters note he is in Philly so I am not sure how he gets loose to come here until next season.Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes

I mean, why so condescending? I'm not sure if there is prior history between you and Gabriel, but all he is doing is presenting information to this forum he was privvy to. It's no different than the mass amount of Twitter rumors that may or may not hold their weight in value.

I think everyone is just a little tired of anything coming in the form of a rumor. I know I am...
I want an official statement from George Karl himself. I want that "breaking" scroll across my TV. Most of all, I want that damn yellow banner up at STR! Lets get this thing done!
I can confirm this all. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw PDA at 31 Flavors last night, and apparently PDA told the kid behind the counter that Vivek texted his friend about the mess Cousins is making out of all of this. I guess it's pretty serious. I would bet there is a 50% chance that this might blow up, and that if it does it will probably be because of things that Cuz may have said to his agent that were then possibly reported to management. Take THAT to the bank.

Yah, sorry... Don't believe you or your "sources". Its pretty much the opposite of every media outlet who has their own sources. Also, name dropping your "sources"? Messed up man..

If I had to guess I'd say we won't we'll hear anything until after the Milwaukee game, allowing Karl to take over during the all-star break.
