piksi

Hall of Famer
Kings didn't wait long in the new year to start another losing streak dropping down to 8-26 which is 4th worst in the league and now we realize how hurtful the win against Clippers and Mello's three against the OKC. As always we are so close and yet so far away. Kings have lost 21 out of the last 25 games and haven't won consecutive games since beggining of November when god had mercy and gave us Memphis, Golden State and Minnesota at home. I don't see us winning more than 2 in a row until the end of the season and even that is questionable..

Piksi's pow(d)er rankings

Despite the awful win against the Clippers Kings are still in great shape in picking a high caliber bench warmer of the future. Unless, we skip the rookie contract and go straight to MLE.

Playoffs - I remember we had a thread earlier in the season about it. Must have been funny.
------------------------------------------------------------------
A discouraging 0-2 October with pathetic 5-12 November and abysmal 3-10 December will be followed by also ugly January. 16 games (well 14 left) - 10 on the road where we are 2-15 and 6 at home where we are 6-11. We will win one or two games depending whether Gilbert Arenas plays ever again. We can only hope that other pathetic teams will play each other more often forcing one of them to win. We have a great chance to pair up Jason Thompson with another talented player so that JT doesn't get too bored on the bench.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Santa brought us nothing again. I was hopping for a coach since we don't have one. I can't believe that Kenny Something is still here. We should have made a run for Mutombo, P.J. Brown and maybe even Kevin Willis since we missed up on Juwan Howard. Maybe I am stupid but I don't understand anything unless Kenny Something is a laker fan because if I was coaching the lakers - I would behave like Kenny Something. He is just killing whatever he had that resembled a coaching career.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that we are finally healthy - we can conclude that we suck regardless and that the level of sucktitude is pretty high on the SFM scale. We are a veteran club trying to win games despite lack of pretty much everything. Where else would guys like Moore, Udrih and others be able to do what they love and get paid millions ? Maybe we can get sponsored by salvation army.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The trade deadline is coming up soon too. We don't have any assets other than Salmons. We have lot of dead weight, garbage and flexible pieces that are as easily movable as the Great Wall in China. Brad had couple decent games but that is about it. Maybe at this point - it would be better to not do anything stupid and make things worse. And yes, things can get worse - I mean - Kings are still in Sacramento the last time I checked.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty entertaining game tonight. 2 teams that have all sorts of allergies when it comes to defense without benadryl - it was going to be difficult. Pacers had more rebounds and free throws to offset our great 3pt shooing. If You score 117 on the road and lose the game - you just suck. We needed Kevin to score 50 to have a chance and he failed. He only scored 45. Sure, we can blame his other teammates but can You really build a house using just paper ? Mikki is geting close to his all star form for the girls middle school all star game in South Dakota.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM went to Rasho WTF Nesterovic. Just the fact that he played and scored was enough for me.

LW-VC went to Jeff Foster just because he failed to have 20/20 game

RA&1 went to Rush. He should do something else

JHA went to Salmons. It was just the "other" game.

Mikki - was once again dominated by Mikki "useless" Moore. What a performance

SAR-Methuselah went to Beno who looked twice as old as Bobby who is old but good.

WTF moment of the game - Kings starting 5 announcement. How do You analyze games and think of strategy and conclude that Mikki Moore can be solution to anything including global warming.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Nets are next and they are around .500 but only 6-12 at home desperately looking for an easy victim. That is where we fit beautifully. We will spend a day in NYC and when You are there - basketball is the last thing on Your mind especially when You have no clue how to play the game which fits for most of our players and coaching stuff. Nets don't have much of the bench we don't have any starters. The game is winnable for us on the paper. For the Nets it is a "when - if not now" type of game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - welcome back. Maybe they will let You start
Beno -
Brad - 5-6 game like this Brad and we get what we want bu so do You
Salmons - maybe it is the other night
Mikki - only couple hundred more games before we finally get rid of You

Bobby - to bad he is old
Hawes - awesome durability
Dante - if you were lucky - You would be playing - somwhere else
Cisco - we overpaid him too.
JT - why isn't he starting ?

rest - irrelevant and useless
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Harris has a sprained ankle and hat is our only chance. That and the fact that VC is old but still a volume shooter. Yi might get the TDM. VC will go for LW-VC award. With Najera and Hassel we get to see some of our favorite villans again. This is it for January. Now or never.

Glad to see you back Piksi.

I didn’t get a chance to watch the Pacers game but what’s up with our coach’s (Reggie and Natt) obsession with Mikki Moore? Seriously, am I missing something? We bench Beno for making pathetic turnovers but we keep Mikki in.

I’m at a point where I just wonder if the coach is watching another team’s game tape. We aren’t and haven’t really won anything with some of these old(er) vets. I’m guessing that Reggie got fired because 1. he really didn’t develop the kids (and he played them more than Natt – if I remember correctly) and 2. he didn’t win games. Well, Natt should understand that we’re not winning and we still got some guys that are younger than 26 still sitting on the bench – can we please give them a little time?

I want to see player/future team development this year. I’m not interested in seeing guys pad their stats – unless we’re just showing some of these guys off for a trade (before this year’s trade deadline).

I feel sorry for Bobby Jackson. I’m a huge fan of his and it’s great to see him back but I rather see him playing for a title/contender. I think he can bring guidance to some of the young guys but seeing him in this situation is hard for me and I’m sure it sucks for him.

And here’s another bonus…Kenny might play.

Thomas suits up – Kenny Thomas pulled on his uniform for the first time since a left calf strain sidelined him for 16 games. Natt swapped Thomas for Sheldon Williams, although the coach said he wasn't sure that the move would change his rotation.

"If I feel Kenny can come in and give us that extra help we need, I will call to him," Natt said. "Otherwise, I will stay with our main rotation of guys."

no kenny thomas:eek:
donte should get some pt
he has a lot of DNP lately

Sorry Sheldon.
When Kenny Thomas pushes you inactive because 'he might give us extra help' its time to start actively looking for a new line of work.

Honestly though...Could K9 be worse than Mikki?

People have dogged Kenny for a long time, but if he can play a couple of minutes here and there I have no problem at all. We're paying him like a bazillion dollars. IIRC, he can at least rebound on occasion...

Sheldon Williams, on the other hand, is a very big disappoint as far as on-court production goes. I feel sorry for him because he seems like a nice guy, but he's just not in the plans - as evidenced by the announcement earlier that he and Douby's contracts would not be extended.

Don't you have to play before you can be "outplayed?"

Obviously, per-40 stats are generally poor indicators of true performance, but it interests me that, per forty minutes played, Williams has the second-highest rebound average on the team (12.8), behind only Thompson (13.3). I also noticed that he's averaging five rebounds a game when he gets even as much as ten lousy minutes. Not for nothing, but Mikki Moore is averaging less than that in twice the minutes.

You know, right about now, I'm really cross with you guys for making me defend Shelden Williams; I don't even like Shelden Williams. But I'm not buying any line of thought that suggests that Kenny Thomas getting Shelden Williams' spot in the rotation (such as it is) has anything to do with who "earned" what, or who "outplayed" whom.

That's a million for every foul he's allowed to commit! We sure got a good deal, need someone to foul? Well don't hesistate, call 1800-Mikki-Moore. Prices start at 1 million per foul

our front court is pathetic! can't get a rebound to save their lives... Why Mikki still starts is beyond me. At least with Brad Miller he brings some offense for us to showcase for potential trades.

What happened to Donte Greene anyways? Seems like he got pushed out of the rotation once Kenny Natt stepped in as interim coach... All I know is Kenny Natt better not running this team next season as head coach.

It's the small things Kings.

--20-8 Outrebounded.

--Down by 2 with final possession, chance to tie. Nets steal, and hit 3. Now 5 point game

You know, if the Kings just took care of the small details. We wouldn't be half as bad as we are.
