Kings Media Respect/Disrespect Thread

If people think we're going to be a .500 team this year then I'm afraid you're in for a rude awakening. I just hope you don't turn on the team when they don't meet your expectations. We've beaten two mediocre and two terrible teams so far. There are still more questions than answers.

If we beat Houston tonight then I'll even think about .500. But for now I'm just looking for progress from the young guys.

And it IS only 8 games into a new season with a new coach, new kids, etc. and the Kings had only 17 wins last year. Give it some time. Kings will get some respect when they earn it, and not just from one game.

Nah, that can't be Charley Rosen. He didn't make nearly enough mistakes in his assessments.

Here this will make you feel more comfortable:

On Evans:
Worse, his defense was atrocious. Whomever he was guarding — Aaron Brooks or Kyle Lowry — repeatedly left him in the dust on their way to the rim.

Except of course that he rarely guarded either guy all night and spent most of it guarding Ariza -- Brooks and Lowry were Beno's men.

You beat me to it.;)

Whew. Thanks. I was worried there for a minute.

So it is ol' Charley after all. Reading the box scores and guessing at the matchups to try and pretend he saw the game.

On NBATV one of the announcers said on the New Orleans Hornets struggles, "Just like the Sacramento Kings, you need to find a way to come out and compete and give yourself a chance". Thats a nice compliment :)

That's not only a nice compliment, it's quite possibly the most positive thing any national announcer has said about the Kings in at least two years.

:)

But, much like Westphal tells his players, we cannot buy into the good stuff too much or we also have to buy into the bad stuff.

Our young team is putting all out there every night and that's my reward. Whatever the media says, this team is something special.
