The Kings are just the 12th No. 8 seed in league history to win even two games in a first-round series against a conference's top team.

I know everyone is hoping like hell that we do it, but I'm wondering who really thinks the Kings are gonna pull this thing out as opposed to those who are just happy to see the team playing so well and putting up a great fight, but expect the Spurs to pull it out in the end.

The kings of the past - while I've loved them completely and always will - have been a much softer team, and more dependent on their offense to outgun their oppenents. The new guard - Artest, KT, Bonzi, SAR - don't rely on shooting, but banging the ball inside and attacking the rim. This kind of play is always more effective in the playoffs; this team is better in the playoffs then their record suggests, rather than past kings teams who have better regular season records and tend to wilt a bit in the post season (i.e. phoenix).
The kings are one lucky bounce away from being up 3-1 here, and the win last night has to make them believe.
The one guy who really needs to feed off that energy, though, is brad. He's been so friggin' soft, if he can step it up a notch and take a lesson from Bonzi and Artest, the kings win. If he continues to play soft, it will be very hard.

If I told you that your three big men were going to average:
10.5pts 3.0rebs 2.5ast
10.3pts 5.0rebs 0.8ast
6.8pts 5.3rebs 2.0ast
Adn then told you that wiht those kind of performances we were going to seriously threatnen the Spurs, you would have told me I was cukoo for cocoa puffs (which I am BTW).
(Of course it helps when you have a guard averaging 21.0pts 12.3rebs on 59% shooting).

PixelPusher said:yeah, but that all goes out the window for this "bizzaro" version of a prototypical inside-outside team.

Great point, Brick. And IMO for the rest of the series these guys need to step up and knock down their mid-range jumpers because I'm sure Pop is gonna adjust and try to double up on our post-up guards, leaving our bigs open from the perimeter. What an odd team we have, huh?Bricklayer said:Here's the staggering thing for me: we've been beaten precisely where you thought we might. One question though: Are you loco for Lucky Charms?
If Brad Miller is back to true form after game 4, and the rest of the starters stay true to form along with Martin off the bench. The Kings win this series in 6.Team Dime said:So how many Kings fans honestly think we're going to win this series?
