Kings made history tonight

Bibby-4-Three

G-League
The Kings are just the 12th No. 8 seed in league history to win even two games in a first-round series against a conference's top team.

what a team. the guys are showing so much heart right now. I am ready to make more history. lets do it kings!

If they do win the series, they'll be the first 8th seed to win 4 games against a #1 seed.

Denver and New York only won 3 against the #1 seeds because it was best-of-5.

Of course right now the only important thing is that 3rd game in SAn Antonio. GO KINGS!

So how many Kings fans honestly think we're going to win this series?

I know everyone is hoping like hell that we do it, but I'm wondering who really thinks the Kings are gonna pull this thing out as opposed to those who are just happy to see the team playing so well and putting up a great fight, but expect the Spurs to pull it out in the end.

Its a really good question. When the playoffs started, I thought that we had a good chance of winning against the Spurs. But after Game1, I didn't really think we are going to be any match for them. But since that game we have played some really inspiring basketball. And I have started getting that hope back now.
I say we win the series!!!
But the next game is really going to be the one that we will have to win. Lets see how we are able to play at their place

I believe. I told the guys in the office we'd come back to work tied 2-2.

The Kings will win this series.

I, as well do believe too. I mean, we're Kings fans, we keep believing. It would be so good to win the first seed. Think of how embarassing it would be for the spurs, not only that, but to show everyone that the Kings will never back down. I really, really think that we can pull it off. :D

I was thinking that if we won one in San Antonio in the first two games that we would lose the series 4-2. If we only won one of the first four games than we would lose 4-1.

BOY WAS I WRONG! it's 2-2 now and I think if ther eis such a thing as momentum than we have it (although the games are a bit too far apart for that). We have out played them 3 out of 4 games. If they win tomorrow it will go 7 and we will lose :( If we win tomorrow than it will go 6 with us winning.

at this point, the way this series has gone, why not? i'm as puzzled as the spurs, to be honest. why has small ball been so incredibly effective against them 3 games in a row? where did the warrior attitude of the kings come from? when did the kings become junkyard dogs in the playoffs? it just kinda.....happened. the kings, as a franchise, are due for some luck in a playoff series. i'm not really gonna linger on it, cuz there's still two more games to be won, but i'd say that i'm more optimistic right now then i was at the beginning of the series. the kings, somehow, morphed into a team that knows what it takes to win in the playoffs. they are no longer the model that phoenix has adopted: a style of basketball that looks great during the regular season but doesn't win playoff games. i'm thoroughly confused. anybody wanna join me in being confused? at what point does a team that hasn't even played a full season together mesh enough to know what it takes to beat the defending champions? its great...

i love being confused! this team has brightened my week! i'm so excited for tuesday! everybody put on your kings gear this week and wear it proud!

This series makes sense to me, completely.

The kings of the past - while I've loved them completely and always will - have been a much softer team, and more dependent on their offense to outgun their oppenents. The new guard - Artest, KT, Bonzi, SAR - don't rely on shooting, but banging the ball inside and attacking the rim. This kind of play is always more effective in the playoffs; this team is better in the playoffs then their record suggests, rather than past kings teams who have better regular season records and tend to wilt a bit in the post season (i.e. phoenix).

The kings are one lucky bounce away from being up 3-1 here, and the win last night has to make them believe.

The one guy who really needs to feed off that energy, though, is brad. He's been so friggin' soft, if he can step it up a notch and take a lesson from Bonzi and Artest, the kings win. If he continues to play soft, it will be very hard.

I really agree about Brad, I think he could play a key role in beating the Spurs.

Here's the staggering thing for me: we've been beaten precisely where you thought we might. Our frontcourt has done NOTHING, besides Reef's lone standoout game. And yet here we are.

If I told you that your three big men were going to average:

10.5pts 3.0rebs 2.5ast
10.3pts 5.0rebs 0.8ast
6.8pts 5.3rebs 2.0ast

Adn then told you that wiht those kind of performances we were going to seriously threatnen the Spurs, you would have told me I was cukoo for cocoa puffs (which I am BTW).

(Of course it helps when you have a guard averaging 21.0pts 12.3rebs on 59% shooting).

yeah, but that all goes out the window for this "bizzaro" version of a prototypical inside-outside team.

We will make some more history when we knock the Spurs out of the playoffs. Then we will make some more history when we become the first 8th seed to reach the finals. Then we will make all-time history when we become the only 8th seed to win it all.

I'm with Ron all the way. :D (and yes that means i'm crazy too)

You should use that little photo of Tony Parker where he looked totally frail and intimidated by Bonzi Wells. It would have the emotional impact of Michaelangelo's Pieta. Parker is French you know. Your depiction of Parker might eventually become a Holy relic.

Michaelangelo's Pieta.

Reporting from the land of useless spelling trivia, believe it or not, it's actually "Michelangelo," without the extra 'a'. Isn't that weird? The weirdest part... I think the spelling of the ninja turtle is Michaelangelo.

Great point, Brick. And IMO for the rest of the series these guys need to step up and knock down their mid-range jumpers because I'm sure Pop is gonna adjust and try to double up on our post-up guards, leaving our bigs open from the perimeter. What an odd team we have, huh?

Just a "hail mary" Brent Barry shot from actually being up 3-1, but I guess it makes things interesting. Remember Artest didn't play that game, so Im expecting us to perhaps get over the hump in game 5.

ahhh yes my dear Brickie, its called playing for a contract...something Brad shouldn't have to worry about

Hey everyone, I got my own editor, who I plan to keep very busy.

Be warned. Don't read any of Celt's posts. :)

Very interesting.

One question though: Are you loco for Lucky Charms?

Of course -- who isn't?

I'm also crazy for Cocoa Pebbles.

Ape for alphabits.

Ridiculous for rice chex.

Cracked for corn chex.

and...generally a fan of almost any cold cereal whihc does not include stupid nuts or fruit chunks.

Hmm...never considered this during the anti-carb fad -- if you were on a carb=evil diet was a carbless bowl of cereal just the milk? :p

If Brad Miller is back to true form after game 4, and the rest of the starters stay true to form along with Martin off the bench. The Kings win this series in 6. :D
